Well just to make old man Davey happy, I recorded something less lazy this time

Well not superbusy but fun, using my trusty Wolfgang with my JB/59 A2 humbucker, the drive is my FET-Plexitone od, delay is the Red Repeat set to a dark sound, well I hope you will enjoy it, I love that backing....the groove is infectious.

Sorry for asking, but why should I work on my rhythm?
Most all the players I like play across timings on purpose to loosen up the feel.
And the influence is not really Satch, more like Beck and such
As for gain, well I like clarity better.
But it is all a matter of different taste and probally age as well

Love it! I thought the tone was about perfect for that groove. I don't understand the rhythm comment either.

How can you tell that someone needs to work on their rhythm playing when they are playing lead over a backing track?

You are still too young Rid... . Ahaha... well, very nice and smoooth! I undestand the Satch relation, the feel reminds me to the beguining of The Extremist. I love the feeling of that hybrid, man!. Once I've made a 59/JB with an alnico V and the tone wan't even close. I guess Wolfgan helps too...

Well mine is not how most would do it, I use the screwcoil from the 59, and the slug is the JB, it gives both clarity and that nice midrange I like.
Plus the A2 is good with that guitar, the APH-1 neck likes the guitar too.

That was a fun one, Rid. Again, just great playing. Question; in regards to your Plexi Drive pedal, what do you mean by FET? I'm assuming it's some sort of modification to the production pedal.

Thanks Mike, ah FET's...well instead of using the usual diodes for the clipping part, I stuck in a few FET's instead, some of the more highgain ones actually, I rather like the sound, it is not not for all as they have some charateristics that some would find hard and unforgiving, they do however give you that unmistakenly British vibe.

Really cool track! I like your melodic ideas, and some of those chops are really creative and interesting to listen to. Where do you find all your backing tracks?
