from : localhost/came off a great thread on another forum, but it's cool to think about....
Makes me feel better about all the bucks I've spent! Haha!
Wow...that's crazy!!!
That's horrible. I guess even after the price increase Marshall's aren't that bad.
There are definately more choices and options for players today than ever before. And the majority of them are all more affordable.
Thanks for sharing that Scott.
I was reading the Guitar Amplifier Blueprinting website....Myles posted some of his favorite amps. One of them was a 1966 JTM45 that he bought in 11th grade...$325.00 for the amp amp; a 4x12 !!!!!!

That's still about $1600 in Y2K dollars.
yeah but those are list.....what about GC standard prices?
My dad got his 65 SG for 300 bucks....stolen!!
what about it?
it's just a comparison to emphasize the fact that some of this boutique stuff isn't really priced that nutty if you look at stuff from the old days.
Someone once posted what a Les Paul in 1959 cost and it didn't sound like much to me (less than 500 bucks), but back in 59 that was a fortune!
It's all relative. (the thread that sparked this one is over on The Gear Page. excellent thread)
