hi guys... my boss is gonna buy her partner a guitar for his birthday,so I need a little advice/info from you..

now I believe my bosses partner is G.A.Sing!!! for a LP Black Beauty however that's a little out of the price range, so the Epi version may be purchased due to this...

so, what's it like?? is this good value for $$ or should I be pointing them towards something like a lawsuit mij lp or something else??? I'm assuming the hardware (eg. pups) will need replacing to something decent at some point... how's the construction and finish??? is it a decent player for the $$???

your help will be much appreciated....

I have owned one for about 3 years, it is a 1994 model Black Beauty with a JB in the bridge. As for it being a solid guitar, it's a ROCK. Heavy as sin and plays like butter. The only problem here is that I've played newer one's exactlyl ike it and it didn't feel anything like this one, flimsy and sounded horrible. You may be better off looking for a used one made before 1998 or so and upgrading the pickups. The stock pickups are horrendous if your planning on gigging. WIth a JB though, this thing turned into my main guitar and has beein going strong for a long time now. Recorded with it and played many gigs with it. This guitar always gets compliments on its beauty and the finish is definitely deserving, flawless and beautiful binding all around. I would say go for it, they are a sight to behold. But go for a good used one and use the extra money to upgrade those pickups.
P.S. I have the one with 3 hums. Dont upgrade the middle one, it does nothing.
