I'm very interested in tube amps, how they work and how they are constructed. Can anyone here recommend some books in which you can read about tube amps??

Can I only buy a neck?
I am wondering if I can buy a fender strat neck? Basically I want to get a left hander strat neck and put it on a righ hand strat, so that I have a reversed headstock. Does anyone know where to find a neck? BTW, I am using american deluxe strat. Thanks

Waves GTR(guitar tool rack) modeler
from : localhost/recieved a demo dvd of this over the weekend. Basically this thing is an attempt to make a perfect instrument interface to amp modeler setup. The instrument input was made to be completely transparent and match impedence. The thing is definately cool to say the least and it sounds great overall. I especially noticed some great hard rock and bluesy sounds. I could tell they were using PRS guitars to do the demo through. This is a good thing as you know its accurately reproducing sound. Is it worth some $600(native), $1200(TDM) ? To some maybe, while its a great piece of gear/plugin I actually don't think I'd pay that much for it when I could spend much less and get very good quality sounds with a POD or Boss gt-8.

John Bonham collaboration mp3 clip
This is a quickie little clip that I just recorded last night, a little tribute to Bonzo. As far I as know, the drumming clip I used is actually John Bonham playing, an outtake from the CODA sessions. It sounds like Bonham to me, but i'm not sure exactly which Zep tune it was originally from.

New Duncan PU's
I'm getting ready to buy a cheap strat copy(I'm a beginner) I think it might be an Austin. Anyway the first thing I want to do is replace the pickups, I really respect Duncan PU's, but I want vintage replacements without the hum. I' ve looked at Fralin's, Lawrence, Holy Grails etc. Any ideas? I know this is picky, but most of the Duncan noiseless pu's aren't tradional looking.
(excepton being the classic stack)Sincerely,

Old School Rock pups
I want to replace the stock pups on my Ibanez s470 with seymour duncans. The pickup routing is H-S-H. I want it to sound like The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage, and Testement. I'm looking for brite clear highs with a lot of sustain for playing lead and and thick powerful rythem. I'm considering a split coiled stack in the mid position. please give me your feed back.
