I want to replace the stock pups on my Ibanez s470 with seymour duncans. The pickup routing is H-S-H. I want it to sound like The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage, and Testement. I'm looking for brite clear highs with a lot of sustain for playing lead and and thick powerful rythem. I'm considering a split coiled stack in the mid position. please give me your feed back.

I believe tone for days has a simalar guitar with a custom5/ducbucker/59 set-up and im sure he will chime in. Fromt he sounds of it that pickup setup would be very good in that slim body ibanez and very versitle.

consider this a bump with info.

Ibanez guitars sound better to me with DiMarzio pickups. I'd look at an Evolution for the bridge, and maybe a HS-2 for the middle, and a Humbucker from Hell for the neck. Just a thought. It may be the fact that I got to see Steve Vai this last weekend. Damn, I thought I could play!

Hehe, that man can play the guitar!

Don't feel so bad though, there is probably someone out there that makes him feel the same way. There is always someone better. Just be the best you can be and BE YOU

As for the pickups, I ordered an A2Pn and a C5b for my Ibanez SZ. I havea PGb in there right now and a Gibby neck pup. I play old school classic rock and this guitar kicks with these pups. I think the 59n/Duckbucker/C5b would be cool in your guitar.
