Review: Mesa 2X12 Recto Cab
Disclaimer: I am not a big fan of Mesa amps. I have owned a couple and they always went back to the store after no more than 2 weeks.

Texas not so Hots
I bought a Jimmy Vaughn strat a few months ago that i really like(been a Les Paul guy for years)and i wanted to update the the pick-ups in it.Not that the texas specials are bad i just thought i could get a little sweeter sound out of some better ones.Going by what ive read here i went with a set of Texas Hots.Well im kinda disappointed. They do sound nice but the guitar seems to of lost some of its character and zip i guess you could say.Maybe i should of went with Surfers or California 50s set.I just dont think alnico IIs work in this guitar for that real strat tone.Any comments welcomed and i will be selling the Hots if anyone is interested.Jason

Going for a change of tone in my strat...
I'm going to get a strat with JB Jr/Lil 59/JB Jr for metal, so I'm going to change out the Fast Track 2/Hotrail/Hotrail that are in my guitar now. I'm really liking the possibilities of a Little '59/Cool Rails (bridge)/Little '59 in my strat. I'm going for classic rock, going to be playing lots of it along with Phish kind of stuff. I think this sounds like an awesome setup, what do you guys think?

spector basses
anybody here have one? i played this amazing legend 4 string at GC today, it played and sounded f*ckin unbeleivable, and im planning on buying it (as much as it sucks to give my money to GC, this bass is too good not to get). they have it listed at $600, and im sure i could get it a bit cheaper. heres a pic, same finish and everything
so if anybody has experience with this model or spectors in general, speak up

Hiwatts
Being a huge fan of the Who and 70's Floyd i have always wanted a good Hiwatt. Saddly the Hiwatts Pete Townshend and Gilmour used were custom made or heavily customized versions that were not for sell to the public. The UK Hiwatt company has been making PT and DG signature models for a few years now and could not sell them in North America as the USA Hiwatt company had the right to the North American Market. I have heard now there has been a deal between the 2 companies and we can now buy these Signature, made in the UK Hiwatt Heads.

What bridge humbucker for alder/ maple strat?
I've been gassing for a strat type guitar lately. Probably alder body, maple neck, maple board, with a Wilk or vintage trem, all of which seems to be a recipe for brightness. My guitar shop guy tells me it will also slightly scoop the mids. This one will be mostly for leads for overdriven rock, hard rock, and late 70's-early 80's metal. The guitar will mostly go through amps similar to modified Marshall master volume circuits. I'm really a humbucker guy rather than a single coil guy, though I do sometimes like the strat bridge/middle notch sound.

Orange Amps
Im seriously thinking about getting one of their 50 watt or 100 watt heads. I hear they sound a lot like Hiwatts, an amp I've always wanted . So if anyone could give me some info about them maybe some clips that would be really helpful.

2 lipstick tubes with twangbanger in the bridge?
Hi I have an 1988 Fernandes strat with stock neck and middle pups and a Duncan twangbanger in the bridge. Any opinions on putting Duncan lipstick tubes in the other 2 pup positions?
