o.k. so as most of you know i am electronically challenged. i have a question about ohms on amps and speaker cabinets. my crate excaliber head says on the back of the amp, quot;90 watts rms at 2 ohms, 2 ohms minimumquot; what will happen if i run it through an 8 ohm cabinet or a 16 ohm cabinet. also if someone doesn't mind, could you explain the differences in ohms. i'm completely lost and dont want to screw up my amp or cab.

Emg 85 eq
It seems like alot of people wonder how the 85 is eq'd and what it is comparable with in the duncan line. EMG doesn't really give a tone guide and people hear differently. I thought this would be a good way to show visually the eq of the pickup. This is straight into pro tools so there is no amp or anything to color the sound its just the 85. All I did was hit an open A chord. You can really see the lower mids that the 85 has. Also disregard all that crap below 100hz.
I don't suppose you'd be able to do that with the other EMG pups?

Improv, and a bit of Proof that Tone is in the Fingers
I recorded this on a friends MacMini today, plugging the guitar straight into his Imic and using the distortion from Garageband. I threw down a riff, tracked it one left, one right, put in a drum beat, and then did a quick one-take improv over it. I personally think it sounds pretty good. The guitar I used was a stock Jackson JS-1, bridge bucker for rhythm, neck for leads.

Help! Pickup problem
Hi everyone, can someone help me please. I have installed 2 new SD humbuckers in my new Loverock LP. When I switch into the neck pickup the sound /vol is very low and as I play it gradually gets louder until fully working.
The bridge PU is fine. I have triple checked all the wiring and soldering and all is ok. Could I have a faulty PU? or could something else be causing this prob.?
