I recorded this on a friends MacMini today, plugging the guitar straight into his Imic and using the distortion from Garageband. I threw down a riff, tracked it one left, one right, put in a drum beat, and then did a quick one-take improv over it. I personally think it sounds pretty good. The guitar I used was a stock Jackson JS-1, bridge bucker for rhythm, neck for leads.
Don't mind the high pitched little beeps in the middle and at the end, if they come up. Whenever I touched the volume knob, it made a strange sound. from : localhost/www.soundclick.com/bands/5/de...er36_music.htm
That was cool. I like how the delay doubled some of the longer lines.
Thanks Ben, but I didn't even have the option to turn it off, so I made it work for me.
Bump for other people.
cool. i checked out some other recordings, i dig the JB neck tone. nice playing there too
wow thats nice stuff. im floored. i do like the tone too its inspiring. areu seriously 14? thats incredible...
Dude, you seriously own! I wish I could play like that, and I'm older! The tone is nice and deep. I bet you practice your scales and review theories.
I actually know slim to none about theory; just enough to harmonize, play in key, and to converse with my keyboardist.
Nice improv man!
Theres a couple of sloppy bits, but overall it's a good clip. The tone's pretty cool too
That's some pretty nice stuff there. Great clip.
Kind of lost me halfway through lead-wise... Still, very fun.
You definetely have to come to your senses to remember that you're only 14!

You definetely have to come to your senses to remember that you're only 14!Yeah, it was a really random one-take thing.
What do you mean about coming to my senses though? I'm not quite sure I follow.

I think he means don't be too hard on yourself.
Hey there! Even though I'm not into metal and shredding, that was some great playing!! You've got alot of potential there for being only 14 years and you sure have posted alot here too I see, for how long have you been playing? You sure are alot better than me!

Thanks! I've been playing for 3 years or so on electric now. However, I'm a total woodshedder, and play guitar for 2 hours minimum every day. Now that it's summer, I'm usually out jamming 4-5 hours a day.
keep it up bro...that's some serious shredding...especially for an improve type thing!!!
YOU ROCK!!!
Great playing man! Thats some awesome stuff . . . . great job! Awesome melodie's and some great Show Off licks!
Ty
Cool stuff, and the practise pays off well
Cool playing, DSS!
Hell, I hadnt even started to play at that age!
dont worry, with those skills you'll probably get bitten by the jazz bug eventually. It'd test your skills and be loads of fun to throw down lightning fast clean bebop runs over chord changes, not that i can do any of it, i could just accompany a few simple progressions and such.
It's good to see all that skill being backed up with serious practice though. Lots of players always argue that they'd be way better if they practiced as much as {insert badass guitarrist}. When it comes to this, i think that talent doesn't really exist, your potential is only in your will to practice and make something out of what you enjoy.
Thumbs up dude!
U play nice music, good for 14 years old, keep on the good work!!
what delay pedal did u use?
