Wondering how a JB might sound in an ash bodied Strat? I know that a ash body lacks mids compared to an alder body so I was thinking the mid heavy JB might sound a little more balanced in a ash body.

anyone want a cheap accoustic?
i have a Kay accoustic dreadnaught in black. this is one of the guitars left over from our music store. we bought out a wholesaler a few years ago and had some damaged peices. the guitar in question has had the neck broken at the headstock but has been professionally repaired and will come with a written garauntee of workmanship and against breakage in the same spot for 5 years from date of purchase. the area has been refinished and one cannot tell the neck was ever broken unless you were told. the guitar has been professionally set up with a bone saddle and nut and a new set of martin marquis medium guage strings will be shipped with it or i can install before shipping if you like. the guitar sounds pretty good with plenty of bass mids and highs. the volume is exellent for a cheaper guitar. the guitar is in quot;as newquot; condition other than the damage described earlier. will be happy to e-mail someone pics. i can never get them to load on the site for some reason. i will listen to pretty much any cash or trade offer on other guitars or pedals or an amp.if you have something i might want thats worth more i can pay boot. thanks for looking

Kluson Vintage Style Locking Tuners
Just installed em' on my LP Standard. Verdict......love em. Same footprint as the vintage Kluson's. Slipped right in...even came with ferruls to retro fit if you had reamed your holes out to 10mm. It took me a minute to figure out how the locing mechanism worked, but once I figured it out it was simple.

which color?
Okay guys and gals; I'm jones'n for this Fender Showmaster they got on sale at M-F and it comes in two colors - ebony ( from : localhost/) and Atlantic Metallic Blue ( from : localhost/).
I've got two guitars, a Strat and a Gibson LP, that are black....and it'd be cool to have an all-black axe like that, but I also like the metallic blue (favorite color=blue) and the way the black hardware goes with it.

Need advice on selling american strat
I have a 94 black american strat with antiquity pups and Sperzel locking tuners. I'd like to sell it but I wonder if I should just take out the Antiquities, put the stock ones in there, and sell them separately. Same with the stock tuners? Are there any guitar experts out there that can tell me the best way to sell this guitar?

Fatter/Thicker Tone
So I have an American BC Rich Bich and a Mockingbird and both have a Jazz in the neck and a Custom in the bridge. The Mockingbird has a TOM bridge and the Bich has a original Floyd. My question is this, even with the same electronics the Bich has a fatter rounder thicker tone than the Mockingbird. The woods on both are the same mahogany wings with mahogany neck thru and flamed maple top, ebony fret board. Same pots same pickups. The Mockingbird just sounds hotter, punchier cripser... just wondering if anyone had an idea about this. I have another Mockingbird coming today and it has some kinda dimarzios in it i was thinking of tryin them in the bich to maybe thin out the tone or make it hotter? Opinions? comments? insults?

Recording Tips
Hey all, I'm not sure if this is in the right forum, but I figured since it dealt mostly with amps that I would put it here.

Strat Pup for Slash type tones
My nephew has an Epiphone Strat that needs a new bridge Pup. He likes Slash's tone and is unsure on what to get. He needs a single coil. My first guess would be the APS-2. Would that suffice?

Another one about speaker wiring . . .
I was thinking about it the other day, and would it be possible to build a cab with four different speakers in it (I was thinking 2 10s and 2 12s) and then wire it so that you could select between different speaker combinations? If the power transformer has 4 ohm, 8 ohm, and 16 ohm taps and all of the speakers were 16 ohm then you should be able to get any combination out of this . . . which brings me to another question . . . if it's this easy, how come the amp modelling companies havn't done this? You would think that it would be an amazing way to simulate different cabinet tones . . .

new guitar! carvin dc127c!
my carvin arrived yesterday, and its flawless. i got it off ebay for 650, w/ OHSC, original floyd rose, coil taps on both humbuckers, birdseye maple fretboard, 24 frets, neck thru construction, and in brand new condition. i thought it was a steal. the coil taps sound good, im not sure if im even going to put in the dimarzio pickups i have in it. i wished it had an ebony board, but id pay alot more if i had gone to carvins custom shop. i installed the d-tuna myself, it works great. heres some pics:
