I’m finalizing the plans for my lap steel project. It should be warming up soon, so working in the shop will be easier, plus my father who is a better woodworker is just about recovered from his knee surgery and Shingles.

This guitar is in great condition with only a couple of scratches. The finish is a sweet satin black and has a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fretboard in a 25.5quot; scale. The action is set nice and low and plays really nice. The best part about this guitar is the set of pickups in it. Installed are EMG 60 (neck) and 81 (bridge) pickups which are some of the most sought after pickups on the market. They sound amazing, much better and hotter than I thought they would, but still very articulated and precise. The old humbuckers just couldn't cut it. Also installed are black Sperzel locking tuners. I have not found a set of tuners that I like better. These make stringing and tuning so much easier. This guitar comes with an LTD hardshell case made by TKL Cases. I am selling some of my gear to pay the bills and alas, this has to go. With all the upgrades, this is worth well over $500, but I'm letting it go for $320 to get the bills paid. Any opinions on the tonepros stuff? Been thinking about putting them on my LP and was wondering if it would be worthwhile. Bridge? Tailpiece? Both?

I did a search and found out the correct humidity level to keep your guitars at, but I was wondering if I needed to worry about the speakers and amps if
I had every thing in the same room.

I was wondering what distortion/overdrive would be best for my taste with my amp. I dont like a lot of distortion and I would like most of it to come from my amp. Im really just looking for something to boost it a little with but sound good too. My amp is a Masrshall JMP mastervolume version from 1979. I was thinking about getting one of those older boss GE-10s which should add some boost or either and MXR micro amp or distortion II. If I get one of the MXRs do they come in a script version or what years should I look for?

I want to get a limba wood explorer type guitar and I think ordering a custom one online would be cheapest but I wasnt sure what company I should go to. Would it be good quality and would the bridge/tailpiece make a difference in tone depending on where I get it? Or does anyone know of a brand that makes or made limba explorers that were good quality. I heard that the epiphone ones werent limba all the way through the body.

I can't decide If I want to go with Pearly Gates or Alnico II Pro's. Leaning towards the PG's since the big mid is what I don't like about the Dragon II's.

Just a question for all you Gibson nuts on here.... What is the value of the above stated guitar, 2002 model Les Paul in absolutly mint cond, it was a handpicked guitar and has no flaws at all, wow a Gibson with quot;noquot; flaws?

Well my GT-8 arrived today! A day earlier than I thought, which was a nice surprise!

I'd like to wire it like a MusicMan Axis Sport, which has the idea here: from : localhost/is, what confuses me is the the Music Man uses Dimarzio pickups, and the wire colors on those are all screwy...

Well in my wisdom (I almost said wiseness there...) I got a TB10 instead of an SH10 I needed because the JT6 Floyd I have has standard string spacing... And well since upgrading the trem is on the list...I figured I may as well do it with the money I have left.
I figured my best bet is this one:

I'm thinking about replacing my BurstBucker Pro pickups for and JB and a jazz in my Gibson Les Paul st. -04.

I recently bought a semi-hollow Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion. It´s very nice guitar as is, but perhaps some modding should make it completely outstanding for my needs. It says quot;fusionquot; in its name, implying it can be used for any kind of music. I believe I should make a quot;fusionquot; also betwen wellknown pickup-brands and put a Dimarzio Fred in the bridge, to get that somewhat nasty Satriani-sound from the bridge, and put a Duncan 59 in the neck, to get a softer jazzier and more ES 335-like from the neck. Both pickup blended would be some brighter Larry Carlon-like sound - I hope. I will also install a coil-split so I can split both pickups, to get Strat and Tele-like sounds (again; I hope).
Thoughts? Would this work?
