I'm thinking about replacing my BurstBucker Pro pickups for and JB and a jazz in my Gibson Les Paul st. -04.

I read somewhere that Alnico II magnets weaken over time. Anyone have insight into this? I'm thinking about purchasing a Custom Custom but I don't want the magnet to weaken, that would suck. I have another question about the Custom Custom pickup...is it an articulate pickup? I mean are notes defined under heavy distortion, or do they mush? I figured since it's a lower output pickup that it would be more defined, this is what my mind is telling me anyway.

I recently worked on a friends guitar to replace pups, the first one that camre out was a SD 59B (4conductor) that s what the seller told him was in it so no problem there.

Got chance of buying a full shred, anyone using one? Thrash/Death metal type stuff.

Has anybody tried the Dimarzio Evo 2 bridge yet? how would you compare it to the original Evolution?

I am currently using a TS7 (with the hot switch on), but was considering a Bad Monkey. The TS7 has a great sound (with that hot switch), and I heard the Monkey can pretty much clone a classic TS sound.

i have a jb in the bridge of one of my guitars, and while an awesome pickup, it always seems a bit fluffy and undefined in the lower end to me (this is in a basswood guitar with maple neck, into a marshall)

I read a post on the amp pages in regards to amps not being single coil friendly. I started thinking about my own gear Strat thru Mesa Mark IV sounding weak while my Ibanez 2 HB's sounds like I would expect and what I want.
I currently have some Fender Texas hots in the Neck and middle, with a JB Jr in the Bridge.

Ok, I need some help picking out new pickups for my guitar. Its an agile al-3000 and I want something to get that les paul tone, think slash in the intro to sweet child o mine. But I also want a bridge pickup to be able to handle heavy stuff nice like As I lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, SOAD, and the like. Can anyone recommend me some pickups for around 100$. Thanks.

Just wondering if a standard volume/tone control hole in a pickguard is the correct size for a 3-way toggle switch?

I know that strats and teles generally come with 250k pots, but I've heard the hotrail uses a 500k. This seems a bit odd. Which one sounds best with a hotrail?

i can get a JSX off ebay right now my mom is letting me, and i tried a jsx out but i dont think i tried it out enough, im so confused!!!! its 500$ cheaper than in the store too, and i only have a 1 day chance ahhhhh, should i go for it?
