I have a dilemma. I have recently purchased 2 guitars off Ebay, and unfortunately can only keep 1 of them. The first is a '97 Fender Strat Plus, clear lacquered alder body, maple 1 piece neck, torty scratchplate. It is fitted with US standard trem, LSR roller nut, Schaller locking machineheads, and gold Lace Sensors with TBX control. The second is a '96 Gamp;L Legacy, honeyburst 1 piece ash body, maple neck with rosewood 'board, 1 piece white scratchplate. It has a standard Gamp;L trem, vintage style Gamp;L machineheads and plastic nut. I believe the original pickups have been replaced with SD Vintage staggered, and vintage style wiring.

Alright dudes. I need some help!
I got these cool pickups called Motherbuckers from Mighty Mite. I'm installing them in a Les Paul. I need help from all the uber geeks and tone freaks here picking out and installing the right hardware. Please bear with me, as I am a total newbie to installing hardware in a guitar.
Here's what I have in mind. I'd like to add a 5-way switch if possible, brass shaft volume and tone pots. I was also told by some people on other forums that using 1000k pots would give me more control. I also want to add some capacitors in the tone controls so I can get more high end and low end out of them.

alnico II vs. Custom Custom in bridge
If there's anyone out there who has played both and could give me a detailed comparison could you? They both have alnico II magnets and everyone seems to have nothing bad to say about them so I'm having trouble narrowing down between the two. So far I'm leaning towards the Custom Custom.

Snowstorm Blues
Hey guys! I had a snowday from work today, so I thought I'd put a little laid back blues out for you. This is what you get when you mix cinnamon Schnapps and hot chocolate
Anyone care to guess the rig? It's a little different

Marshall 1960A Cab
How are these cabs supposed to be? I found one for $200 and another for $175. The first is supposed to have a wiring problem and it can't be played in stereo, and the second is supposed to have some torn up covering. Are either of these worth buying? Any comments would be greatly appretiated. Thank you.

100 Watt 2X12 Ampeg Guitar Combo Amp... Nice
This is one of the most under rated amps i've ever played... i'm the original owner and it just recently got a check up because it's still under the warantee... it is an all tube, dual channel amp with reverb and tremolo... three tone control knobs, tremolo speed and intensity knob, reverb, overdrive, and master volume.. two inputs, line in/out... the speakers have recently been replaced was a new celestion vintage 30 and an eminence private jack (greenback) 12quot; speaker with very low hours on them... uses most of the 6L6 family of tubes... i still have the footswitch and cable... a little road rash but the diamond blue tolex still looks good... this is the working mans amp.. i've never had any problems with it... i also have a matching 4X12 diamond blue matching cabinet for it as well in you're interested... $750 for the combo and $300 for the 4X12 cab plus shipping... OBO

Trem spring config..
Does it make any difference on how you position the springs on a tremelo, i've seen all types of ways like 3 straight (currently what i do), 1 straight 2 angled inwards, 1 straight 2 angled outwards etc. I know the amount of springs changes the bridge tension and string tension, but how do you guys have yours?

APH1's, EVH '78 model, and Slash alnico ll pro's
Hey guys.
Has anyone tried any of these, and maybe compared them to eachother? I was looking into an Alnico ll Pro for the neck, and maybe a matching one in the bridge, if not the EVH custom shop for the bridge. I want the two to be pretty even in volume so one's not way louder than the other. Both are Alnico ll magnets, so I'm thinking they should blend well? These will be for an R7. The tone I want out of the neck is just a smooth, thick, Slash (sweet child, november rain) type tone, and also nice cleans. For the bridge I want to cover hard rock and classic rock like GNR and Van Halen and yet be able to do nice cleans and stuff like Santana. Also, that bluesy type of clean tone that just starts to break up. I guess versitility is what I'm looking for. I would also like a lot of clarity for both. I wanted to go with the alnico ll magnet pickups since they're lower output. I don't really like the sound of the higher output pickups.

Ducan Custom has ruined my EMGs for me...
So a year ago I took my Black Les Paul custom and changed the pickups out. At the time I had 3 USA Jacksons all with Duncans installed. I was never really impressed with them, they always sounded muddy to me. So I decided to throw in an EMG 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck of my LP. At the same time because I didn't like the way the gold hardware looked with the all black EMGs i changed all the hardware out to black. The end result is an amazing looking guitar. Really one of the coolest I've seen. So in recent weeks I've been messing with my USA Mockingbird and Bich and finally get them situated each with a Custom in the bridge and a jazz in the neck. Needless to say I'm in love with my Riches now. For the first time in the last 3 months I picked up my LP with the EMGs (I also have an all stock '89 LP Custom that has never needed adjustment. the pickups rock in that thing) and I was completely disappointed. Doesn't have nearly the tone or quality of the Duncans in my Riches. This used to be my number 1. Having sold all the original hardware switching it all back out and gettin gold covered Duncas is out as it would cost me well over $800 to restore it to original. Looks like I have a nice piece of furniture. Speaks volumes to my love of the Duncans now but kinda sucks that this guitar is lame by comparison...
