Hey guys! I had a snowday from work today, so I thought I'd put a little laid back blues out for you. This is what you get when you mix cinnamon Schnapps and hot chocolate
Anyone care to guess the rig? It's a little different
Snowstorm Blues

I'm pretty new at guessing so here goes:

Sounds like a small combo...Silvertone?

Guitar says Tele to me

Okay, let's see how bad my knowledge is!

ALF am I beginning to see a trend with all this blues stuff, you depressed???
Oh I forgot you live in snow country, will look forward for some upbeat stuff around what, May??? Oh well its late and I gotta go, got a tennis game tomorrow
Great playing as usual. Love your tone!

Hahaha! Thanks, Al! Yup, the snow is falling, won't cheer up 'til spring
75les, you're on the right track with the small combo, no cigar on the guitar

Doh! Was I at least close thinking single coils?

After listening to it again--and a damn fine cut buy the way--it does sound more like humbuckers, but maybe a hollow body. The background sounds single coil to me though. I'm not clutching at straws yet, but I'm close, LOL!

Did you play the piano and organ? That's got a great feel, and tone as well to go along with the great guitar tone.

Great vintage small amp tone!!OK, here's the amp
I'll put a picture of the guitar up in a minute.

I was like, let's see, Silvertone, tweed or blackface champ? I got the tweed part right.

Hahaha! Here's the guitar Total setup cost less than $200, including the mods to the guitar.
I put a GFS Brooklyn pickup in the little Epi. It just screams now, sounds like a cross between an Esquire and a Gretsch I just threw my Bassman and strat out the window. I hope you're happy.

Where do you live?

Solid blues tone! I've been wanting to pick up one of those Epi's for sacrificial research purposes.

It's a day later and I still can't believe this. I showed my brother and his jaw hit the floor. I played him the track first. ALF, it takes big cubes to use that equipment, post it then make us guess. THAT was a lot of fun. The answer was even better. You just proved that you don't need thousands of dollars worth of equipment to make a cool recording.

martini (my favorite drink!), that's what this little Epi is. I use it for experiments and learning luthiery. This weekend it'll become a victim to my recently acquired nut files
75lp, you're too kind man! I did touch up the recording a little. I recorded the track onto the computer using that Dan-Echo you see, it really fills out the amp's sound. I added a little reverb and a stereo plugin to the track, but that really is it. The stereo plugin just widens the sound field a little, doesn't change the sound at all. No EQing or anything. That's pretty much how I always mix my guitar tracks. I guess it's quot;myquot; sound

I'm never kind (ask my wife, hee hee) just truthful. That clip is a lot of fun but every time I look at that amp, I crack up. I'm gettin' one, that's for sure!

P.S. She thought I was listening to SRV again.

ALF ! I'm only 46 now, but, when I grow up, I want to play just like you...

Unreal tone! Goes to show that it's all mostly in the hands!
I still can't believe that it's a pair of 2quot; speakers. What Dano pedal is that?

I believe it's the DE-1

BWAHAHAHA...too damn funny!

I was gonna say Gretsch for the guitar when I first started listening.

Amazing the difference there is in recorded and quot;livequot; tones. You can make anything sound great recorded.
