I finally settled down on a pretty reliable rig. My strat and bandmaster are great tone wise, loudness wise, and offer me a large palette to fill with playing. I've been spending more time playing with my band and stuff and i couldn't be happier.

Time to retube both my amps. Both Are EL34 based high gain. Should the phase inverter tube be balanced?

I'm looking at the graphite nuts from the stew mac website. They have graphite nuts that are pre slotted. There arent any photos really that tell me what I want to know, which is are they basically ready to install with maybe a few adjustments, or are they just semi cut for string spacing and you have to do the rest?

When I think of Classic guitars, it's usually the 50's/60's, and it includes Gibson, Fender, Martin, Gretsch, Guild, Rickenbacher.

I was just listening to all the pickups in the Soundbytes Section of this site, and they listed what all the guitars and amps were, but didn't mention who played the clips. Does anyone know?

Personally, with me it's all about the Super Distortion....the feedback is quick to come on yet still manages to blossom, and I don't think it's ever turned microphonic on me.

Here's another one of my band, Silverlined. The tones are what they are, just fast demos made in a rehearsal room, micing everything up, and tracking one at a time. Not big productions, just decent quality demos.

Can I wire up my P-90's for a bridge neck on combo so they sound like position 2 or 4 on a strat? I'm almost embarrassed to ask that because I'm pretty sure it's yes. More importantly, though, how will it sound? Stratty (a la SRV - but REALLY fat) or something else?
