I love the sound on the Eminence speaker site of Blues Saraceno using the afro fuzz with governors. It is also on the Blues Saraceno site under afro fuzz. What setting is he using on the tweak fuzz pedal? I know its the afro fuzz but they are supposed to be the same. I want that sound and will be buying a Duncan tweak fuzz if it gets that tone. Anyone have those settings? Assuming they can be had with the tweak fuzz.

Clean humbucker
I am looking for a clean humbucker. One that has good sensitivity, a nearly flat eq, doesn't distort, and has a strong percussive clean tone.

You say it doesn't fit? I'll make it fit...
So I've finally gotten all my parts together to finish my LTD project. Alnico 2 Pro HB bridge, Cool rails in the neck. The neck's cut for a single coil so I'm putting on some plastic HB covers to make it look smooth. 3-way LP switch on the upper bout, 2 500k dual concentric pots and 1 500k with an Orange Drop as master tone.

Clarify please!!! PAF sound!!!
I may sound stupid asking this, but what i want to know is what exactly defines the vintage PAF sound? I ask this because in reading the post about who here likes the Dimarzio stuff. One member says that even Duncans high output pick ups sound similar basically. I don't understand this as i thout it was the low output and ultra scooped mids that distinguishes vintags buckers from modern ones. I hva heard a few duncans lately and with the sh-5 i can see it but the sh-6 seems to have a lot more guts than a 59 which is what i took out of my blues bird becuase i wanted a heavier sound and have a hollow body that would benefit from it. Is it the high end presence. I see that some Dimarzios use ceramic magnets like the sh-6 which is generally supposed to render an aggresive top end. is it because many dimazios have more bass and mids than high end. Just wondering guys thanks.

How should I prepare to join a blues band?
I got some offers to join blues bands with guys in their 40s and 50s after playing some licks in a guitar store. How can I prepare to audition for one of these bands, and are there some blues standards I should know? Pretty much all of my blues is of more of the classic rock style, which I understand is normally a lot more speedy than regular gritty blues, but it is definitely my style. I know blues is more about slow expression and really squeezing notes, but does the SRV approach work too?

black Gibson '67 Reissue Flying V
Comes with APH-1(n) and CC (SH-11) in the bridge, both are black. I have original Gibson pups if you prefer those and will install them at no extra charge. It has 500k pots and is set for .10-.52 strings. Also has brand new white pickguard and upgraded bridge and tuning pegs. All gold hardware. asking $800CAN... I think it's about $650USD.

Custom question
I have a custom in the bridge of my Ibanez Musician, it's not that powerful. The PRS HFS blows it away and has a ton more character IMHO. I've read on this forum that the custom is supposed to be pretty hot, am I missing something here? I'm not knocking the custom, it just doesn't seem to be living up to it's reputation.

Split cool rails (middle) and LittleSDeamon (bridge) ?
My guitar has 3 individual switches instead of a blade. I was thinking of maybe get a 3 position toggle switch and use the mini toggles as splits! This way it'd enable me to get SCsized humbuckers in the neck and middle (I prefer SC sounds there).
I was thinking of a Little Screamin' Deamon (a friend of mine has it in his strat and it's AMAZING. Sure Alder is brighter than basswood but with the midbooster is should compensate?) on the neck and a cool rails on the middle. How do you think they would sound split?

Looking for advice
Alright, so I got a Dimebucker for my Les Paul, and I attempted to wire it up myself... well, everything went fine until I noticed that the pickup would gradually lose and then regain volume, I fooled around and found out that it was the volume pot causing the trouble... we've got a show coming up in about a week and a half, and we needed to practice so I said quot;I'll just bypass it for now and I'll get a new volume pot in a few days and replace itquot;.

Got a Reamer tool today-(i know how it sounds)
Finally found a reamer tool today..... When i worked for a short time doing small repair jobs at a guitar store they saw me using a drill to widden the hole for a larger shaft pot.... They told me to never use the drill and use this thing called a reamer... It's a tappered metal shaft that can widen holes by hand safer then power tools.... The tool the shop had is about 10 inches long... has a nice long tapper shaft to it... They can't find them anymore and i have been looking for one like it! saddly the one i found is about 5 inches long and goes from 1/8 up to 7/8th holes.... The shop uses theirs for making pot holes and tuner holes larger... Saddly with the shorter reamer i have i don't think it will be good for tuners but should be great for pots and stuff....WhoFan
