A really hot and humid gig...most of the audience listened from outside the pub and most of the time I was out of it because of the heat
Anyway here's a clip:
from : localhost/the guy behind, trying to play guitar.
Man, that was a seriously HOT show! Wow!
I loved the your guitar solo as well!
Seriously, what was the setup? The tone was a kiler?
thanks

Thanks Marin
Dunno about the show, I'm only the guitar player and we are backing the lead singer, but as far as tone goes I used my stock 1991 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a miked Koch Twintone 50watt combo with a Maxon OD-9 pedal for solo boosts. The wah pedal is an original Italian ptp 70's Vox Wah.that chick has a seriously good piece of ass!!!!
oh.. you say there was music there too? didnt notice
the tone is spot on.. great for this type of music
really not bad.. the quality leaves to be desired, but it's grat for an amateur recording
the only thing missing is a sign that says:
Please do not touch the girls.

Glad you apreciate the artistic side of the show, Davey!
The sound system lasy night was REALLY BAD...and it put us off quite a bit together with 40 degrees celsius heat we were suffering on stage, so I guess the camera just picked up what was coming out of the P.A.
We've only been playing together for about a month and this gig was just a first test gig in a pretty unknown venue where we invited a few friends so we could hear some opinions.
So give me some opinions ! Should I go on with this band? We are supposed to be supporting the singer who will eventually try to promote his own songs...what do you think?
imo, any amount of band-time is good.. taking the bandmembers arent crap.
about supporting the singer.. that speaks for his ego a bit, but if he's cool, it's ok. a bit unusual, but as long as you're ok with it, fine
about the heat.. i hear ya man.. if i didnt have a fan right next to me, i'd die here.. let alone under stage lights
WOW!!! You guys made nice background music for the dancers.
Love that song. One of lenny's better songs, expecially live. Good stuff.
nice, i liked the voodoo child bit at the end. classy.
Very nice playing on the lead parts!
Good show
That was tite. IT was Led Zeppelin meets Zoolander meets Jimi Hendrix' guitar playing. I liked it. What kind of musical knowledge do you have?
I'd agree with Davey in that any band time is good time. Experience gained from playing with others in such an environment is priceless.
That was awesome playing too, especially the solo
cool vid. great solo! What Lenny Kravitz CD is this tune from? I'd like to add it to my band's list. We're trying to play more danceable stuff, instead of just the guitar-happy stuff I always wanna do. Any suggestions?
Since the girls were fully clothed, I was able to concentrate on the music.
The band was killer. Nice funky beat, great lead. The nipple-ring-necklaced singer wasn't my cup-o-tea, but not bad either.
Let him support you.
Artie
I've just come back from holiday guys and I have now read all your your kind comments! Thanks!
To answer the questions:
the track is supposed to be quot;Always on The Runquot; from Lenny's quot;Mama Saidquot; album.
I listened again to the original and I noticed we speeded it up and funked it up a bit more than the original (my fault entirely for starting out too fast ), but I suppose I'll nail it the next time.
I have no formal musical knowledge or education like most rock guitar hacks
I do know my scales, modes, chords and notes around the fretboard, though.
I read about theory and I had some private lessons to get to understand these things and then the rest is trying to apply them so they sound good to you. It takes time and dedication and a good ear helps.
I guess that's how most people do it.
Here's a bit from another Lenny Kravitz tune we did..
from : localhost/it's a bit closer to the original?
Nice dude!!!!! music and chicks!
