Does anyone have experience with their guitars/basses (specifically the 330 and 4003)? How are those quot;hi-gainquot; pickups?
a friend of mine has a 4003, it kicks tons of ass. plays really well
Rickenbacker basses can be good for any style of music, even metal. just flip on the neck pickup and you have a huge low end growl through an svt.
that's my bass rig right now, 1976 4003 gt; SVT classic gt; 410HLF
It's the best I've ever heard a bass sound I think.
Converge is my favorite heavy band, and i'm pretty sure their guitarist uses a 330 with EMG81's. It's SOME kind of Ric with SOME kind of EMGs...

I too own a 4003 from the mid 70's and you can get most any sound out of it. The pickups have a ton of clarity. It's really well made, on par with my Hamer.
I don't know much about their guitars, but if my bass is any indication, I wouldn't hesitate at all as far as build quality is concerned.

The only Ric i know is the Lemmy sig. bass owned by a friend(i want one bad but it's expensive and only 50 were made,i should steal it ).Man this thing kicks ass and is a tone-monster.

Really?
The only pic I have seen the guitarist had an SG...
I've owned 2 330's and a 4001 they sound great! But you can't shred on the 330's, mainly rythym guitars.
