I was working on an excel spreadsheet and accidently quot;save asquot; and over wrote
the file, is there anyway i can recover?
Unless you're on a network with backup, no I'm afraid, its gone,

Alan wrote lt;lt;Unless you're on a network with backup, no I'm afraid, its
gonegt;gt;. This is the 'probably practical' answer. The reference to the
location of the file on the hard disk will have been overwritten. The
chances are that the actual data would have been written to a different part
of the disk and, as long as it has not been physically overwritten, it may
be recoverable (in whole or in part). Now for the 'theoretically
possible' - at a price - solution. The first option is to get data recovery
software. Something like quot;GetDataBackquot; www.runtime.org This costs between
$69 and $79 (according to the version required). It will have to be
installed on and run from another hard disk so as to not overwrite
recoverable data. The second option is to go to someone who specialises in
data recovery. This could be expensive.
