I have an Excel worksheet. There is a column with duplicate entries. I want
to be able to group by unique entries, but still keep the information tied to
the other columns. For example:
Column 1 Column2
Primary CE CA85
Secondary CE CA85
Secondary CE CA85
CE Group CK11
I want to group on Column 2 so that CA85 appears once, but there are still 3
entries in Column1.
Essentially, what I am looking for is an output of unique items similar to
what is displayed in the drop down list of column 2 if I was to use the Auto
Filter capability.
Any help this newsgroup could provide is much appreciated.
Thanks!
Brad
I don't quite understand what you want, but if your data is sorted nicely, you
could use Data|subtotal to group by that column (and even include subtotals for
any column you want).
Then you could use format|conditional formatting to hide the duplicates in that
column. (They'll still be there, but it'll look like they're gone.)
See Debra Dalgleish's site for instructions:
