Presently I have 45 excel files on desktop of each 2-3 mb size.
I always work with some 4-6 excel files of 2 mb size, cross referring
cutting amp; pasting from each other. Now for the past 3 days often I get quot;not
respondingquot; message. Some one can suggest me any thing. My system's guy
installed excel already 5 times, he is tired and tell me that I have problem
in working.
The first thing that comes to mind is you're running out of memory. Find a
group of files that when you open all of them, you get the error. Then
close all of them. Then open them one at a time. If Excel responds
correctly to some but not all then I would say your problem is memory.
If memory is your problem I would look at each file and determine if the
file is bloated. By bloated I mean that Excel thinks your file is larger
than it actually is. This is a common problem. Search these newsgroups for
quot;large filequot; or quot;file too bigquot;, etc. Post back if you need more. HTH
