Doesn't anyone have any experiance with this pup, is it really quiet like a humbucker? A P-90 humbucker!
Unlike other single-coil P-90s, the P-90 Stack is a true humbucker in a P-90 package. Using Duncan's patented Stack® technology together with adjustable pole pieces, the guitarist can now obtain P-90 tone in a studio-quiet pickup.

Epiphone Sg's Dot Studios
I have narrowed down my new guitar to 4 choices. All epi's 310 SG, 400 SG, and the Dot Studio and the Schecter Omen 6, which I am not sure if I like that one yet. I play mostly punk/pop-punk/and Alt rock. I wanted to know which one would sound the best for my type of music. My budget is around $350. I play bass normally so thats why I dont want to put more than that amount into a guitar. Thanks for the help.

Anyone try the new Barber Direct Drive?
Of what I gather from Barbers website the new DD is suppose to have more bass on tap and is all around clearer than the SS model. Has anyone tried the new DD and what were your impressions? I love the SS model with my PRS SE but its a bit dark with my LP. Hoping the new one might be the ticket. Thanks.

mixing and matching pre amp tubes
was just wondering...I swapped the 12ax7 that's in the V1 position of my tube amp with a different brand of 12ax7 (put a GT in there instead of the electroharmonix...someone said that putting a different tube in the first gain stage could really change the tone of the amp so I experimented)..

Mahogany Tele Project
I got this tele body off of ebay last week. I already had a mighty might neck, warmoth bridge, pickups etc. This morning I got out the router and routed it to accomodate a bridge humbucker The bridge pickup is a custom and the neck pickup is a strat hot stack. The custom sounds very decent in this thing.. a lot better than in my ash tele.. it's darker and more punchy in mahogany. The hot stack (neck) sounds better in ash.. more bright and snappy. I will probably replace it with my a2pro.
It's a rocker.. a pretty good backup for my LP.. actually, my LP is more twangy than this guitar since the LP has a Seth Lover in the bridge. I also put a zebra jazz in the LP this morning.. it's a very nice match for the SL.
