i know this is a duncan forum and that you guys helped me before on numerous ocasions regarding pickup choices but i was pretty much set on the cc´s when i read somewhere(dont remember) that the rio grande´s BBQ were the better choice for a les paul.
mine has a lot of bassy and middy wood mohagony tonal qualitys.and is a very heavy set neck axe,the SX.

Recently in an issue of Guitar World in the Tech Ed section, a reader wrote in asking what the tonal differences between 8 and 16-ohm speakers were.

I'm looking to buy a really good 400-700 range preamp for my studio. Any of you guys use top of the line preamps that have been around for a while or are the industry standard?

I've been using a Pearly Gates bridge (as well as neck) on a Les Paul Custom for many years. Obviously I'm quite pleased with the sound, but as we all endeavor to find that quot;perfectquot; tone, I was wondering how this would sound with a 250k volume pot on bridge pickup??? Thanks....

For my next guitar I'm hoping to get something along the lines SG design. A left-handed Gibson SG seems wayyyyy out of my price range atm and I was pretty disappointed when I tried out the regular lefty Epiphone G-400 in the guitar shop a few weeks back.

Selling some alcnio pups out of a gibson sg faded. They are in perfect condition, not even quite a year old (bought in july 04'). I liked these pups well enough that i thougt about putting them in a fake strat, but decided to go with SD's in the fake strat... anywho 50$..willing to trade

I'm not sure if there is such a thing, but I have a question for those of you who have worked at a guitar shop or have been buying guitar products for a while.

I bought this Epiphone Les Paul in 1994 for £250, this is my first electric guitar. While looking recently on the Epiphone website, trying to identify what model it is, I assumed it was a LP 100 because of the price.

Anyone have any EL84s they'd like to unload? Matched pairs or quads preferred. I've got Ei's, Sovtek's, amp; JJ's, so anything other than those would be welcome.

Okay i had this clip of a Bogner Shiva in action which was called something like quot;billy bogner shivaquot; or something, but its tone was amazing! And ive been wondering if i could coax a similar tone out of my Komet since it too is a boutique el34 amp.
