Okay i had this clip of a Bogner Shiva in action which was called something like quot;billy bogner shivaquot; or something, but its tone was amazing! And ive been wondering if i could coax a similar tone out of my Komet since it too is a boutique el34 amp.
Anyway, i was listening to Boston today and thought that guys sound sounded awesome too and was wondering what sort of pedal/stompbox would help an already kickin' amp to get such an amazing lead tone. Ive got delay already sorted with my line6 dl4, just wondering if it would be something like a stratdeluxer modded boss distortion pedal or something like that.
It needs to be a tone which just keeps singing, but also one that can be used for rhythm and doesnt sound mushy. The Boston more than a feeling album tone is a good indication of what im after.
Any suggestions are much appreciated...thanks
do an ebay search for a scholz rockman ... or find out if any of the modellers have modelled the scholz rockman ... it was good for one and only one thing .. fortunately, you are looking for that exact one thing
good luck

Sounds good, but ive never heard of one...is that an older out of production pedal?

Is this what you're talking about?
I'm not familar with that unit but it is a Tom Scholtz product so I'd imagine it has the sound.
The old Rockman was sort of like a quot;Walkmanquot; for your guitar. Had clean/medium grind/full grind sounds and you could add chorus. Plug in a LP or similar guitar and BAMM...Boston tone baby. You could use it as an effect in line between your guitar and amp or just use it with headphones. There's one sitting in my local music store but I don't know if they are still being made.

What would be a great stompbox to use with my Komet for Boston like tone?
