as some of you know i'm not a huge marshall fan but the DSL100 wasn't bad when i tried it and was one of the high gain models i kinda like and would consider owning.
well, now marshall goes and builds this limited edition 1/2 stack in silver. call me a sucker for the looks but it's damn tempting now...

I don't know what I think about the silver part but to be honest...I dig the DSL amps. They get a bad rap but IMO they one of the better, if not the best quot;newquot; (non reissue) Marshall in years

DSS: black is bland. every amp i ever had was black. i think the damn silver tolex is one reason i'm considering giving the dsl another try....sad, i know but being a graphic designer myself i'm a sucker for cool looking products that also function well. i like my cake and i like to eat it with a glass of milk hahaha!

TGWIF...i 'm no vintage fan. i like modern high gain, remember, my main amp is a powerball now.

The DSL's will do a goo clean as well as vintage and modern crunch...

that's why a mic my 1x12 deluxe reverb, tucked somewhere behind me. I don't need a stack to look cool...gee.....

i already have a 1/2 stack...well actually more than one, 3 heads, 2 4x12 cabs and 1 2x12 cab. i never play anything smaller than a 4x12 1/2 stack unless i'm in my bedroom playing through my atomic/podXT 1x12 combo. it's not a matter of looking cool (that's just a plus i guess you can say lol), it's a matter of getting the sound i want/need and a little 1x10 or 1x12 combo is NOT going to come close to it for live use or rehersals.

I like white too .. Most of my amps are white except that I'm eyeing on a MESA mark III which is white tweed.

Marshall owns

Wow, I haven't seen that yet! I'm glad they made it different from the Jubilees, because I don't want mine plummeting in value. That's a cool looking amp, with the checkerboard grillcloth and black logos! They'll sell those quickly.

Speaking of Anniversaries....87 was Jubilees, 92 was the Blue 6100's, 97 was all the limited reissues, what was 2002? And what will 2007 be? I think they need cream or forest green elephant covering......different from the fawn, white, or dark green levant.

I bought myself a DSL 50 head a few weeks ago and I love it! Finally, no more pedals, just guitar, cord and amp!

I sort of like the black more. But that amp does look pretty cool i'll admit. I wouldn't mind owning one of those!

GJ - The 40th anniversary was fairly low key - the re-issue of the 2203 JCM 800 and introduction of 'true bypass' effects loops on all the re-issues. I agree that they need to do something for 2007, but just wait for the all gold Marshalls in 2012
I agree that those silver DSL's look great, but XSSIVE, are you really considering one seeing as you've got a Powerball?? - no contest in my opinion.

Absolutely LOVE the silver! I say go for it. Do you get that funny quot;tightquot; feeling in your gut when you look at it? If you do, get it or you'll kick yourself in the arse later for passing it up. You guys know the quot;feelingquot; I'm talking about.
