how does a duncan distortion bridge sound when split to work in single coil mode., i have one in my bridge and was thinking of wiring it to do this , so i am curious how the tone would sound, what it might compare to., and also i have a jazz model in the neck and i also was wondering how that would sound in single coil mode also, anyone know?
Both sound excellant split, IMO. The JB is my favorite alnico 5 bridge pickup for splitting and the Distortion is a JB pickup with a ceramic magnet instead of alnico 5, so it's output is even a little stronger than the JB's. I'd go ahead and do it. I think you'll like it. I'd replace a tone control with a push/pull tone pot with a DP switch built in. You could use it to split both pickups at once when you throw it. Or if you have two tone controls replace them both and that way you'll be able to split each pickup individually for even more tonal combinations. Lew
thank you very much, i'll put to thought what you sugested.
