I had a go at it, but Marty's stuff is still a little over my head technique wise. I spent a while practising at slow speed but when I came to record I fumbled the arps quite a bit; what you hear was my best take. I'll nail it eventually! Well, my version of nailing it anyway, I wokred most of that out by ear without referring back to the track so it's not note for note. Anyway, enjoy!
Nice work. That freakin rocks. The solo needs to come up in the mix some more but otherwise it sounds great.
I took a lot of the mids out to try and copy Friedman's tone so that could be why it seems a little back in the mix
Cheers for checking it out!
Ahh, that makes sense. The tone is really good. I really like the main rhythm crunch. That sounds great.
great crunch sound. what are you playing through/with?
No doubt..very tight..sound and playin
Rocks! I am not familiar with his music but this sounds awesome bro I am always impressed with your guitar work. Nice chops and feel - very solid too.
.. in this tune, your style reminds me of Michael Schenker

Guitar is a poplar strat with an A2 JB in the bridge, into a guitar port set on a JCM 800 setting. I added the delay for the lead in Cubase, cut out a lot of the mids for it too. I added a little bit of one of the overdrive plugins to the rhythm sound to round it off.
Stevo, the original song was by Megadeth, and Marty Friedman was the lead guitarist at the time \m/
Spot On!!!
Great cover, the playing was pretty much spot on. I thought the rhythm tone was a bit off though. Mabe try a different cab model
Nicely done, nuntius!!! Marty is my hero next to Paul Gilbert, and I'd say with confidence that you did him justice. Another superb clip
Marty would be proud!
Good Clip Rock On!
Just got my Megadeth ticket today for the Chicago show!! Can't wait!
Sounded like you were a bit tight at the start, you gotta jump in like your ready to rip someone a new a@#hole, warmed up nicely though. Loved the bridge and the chorus. Solo was awesome
Not a big fan of the tone, those modeller's really show their weakness on a bare rhythm verse like Symphony has.
You absolutley need a hi gain tube amp .
