Hello guys i am a newcomer here
my name is Alex and i am from Athens Greece. I own a Gibson Nighthawk
guitar. These guitars are no longer in production by Gibson and all
parts
that were designed for this guitar (pickups) are no longer available. I
wish to change its bridge pickup but there is a big problem.This
prickup
is slanted so i cannot by a non-custom shop pickup.If there is
anyone
you can suggest, please do so.Thank you in advance.....

They used to make a slanted 500T as well. That will still be next to impossible to find though...

I just sold my Nighthawk. You may be able to take the baseplate off and put the coils from another humbucker on the old baseplate. I was debating doing that, but decided I liked the stock humbucker in the end. I have no experience swapping coils, but there are many on this forum that are.

Yes, they are. I tried in vain to find one. I saw an ad for one, but I have yet to see one for sale...ever.

Yeah, putting new coils on the slanted baseplate sounds like a good idea ...
is the neck pup on i nighthawk a full hb or a mini hb?

It is a mini- not a firebird mini. It is more warm.

What about the slanted double-coil humbucker that Rio Grande makes? It's made for Telecasters and requires a special bridge, but should fit the Nighthawk.

Thank yoy all for your interest. Let me anwer to some of your questions. I contacted with Rio Grande but they told me that the slanted pickup they offer isn't suitable for my guitar. Yes the neck pickup of this guitar is a warm mini-hum.....i am very quot;pleasedquot; by this pickup and especially when i use it as a splited one (single coil). Rebuilting the existing baseplate is propably the only that i thing i can do. i have sent a mail to Semymor's custom shop and i am looking for their reply. I also expect an answer from quot;Suhrquot; as a few days ago i watched a Landau's video in which he was playing a Strat with a slanted humbucker (Landau uses Suhr pickups). Anyway, once again thanx for your interest

a custom order from seymour duncan isn't all that expensive. I'm the one that bought big_black's nighthawk. If I don't like that bridge pickup I might do that.

Hi Xeromus.............thanks for looking here.......Do you know if the guys in Seymour quot;buildquot; any custom shop pickup you ask them? I have sent them a mail but they haven't reply yet.............

From what I have heard, they will do just about anything. It should be no problem for them to put new coils on the existing baseplate, or even just rewind the existing coils.
