I saw this wire offered via an online vendor. Do you wire your strats with this? If I were to install an aluminum shielding pickguard, would this shielded wire be worthwhile to install as well on my JV strat?

Need opinions: Peavey Classic 20
Looking for a smaller tube amp to get those vintage tones - Cream, ZZ Top, Led Zep et al. I was going to get a CLassic 30 but I think it's too big for my purposes m(playing in an apartment). How is the 20? I'm concerned about how loud you have to play to get a dirty tone. If you have to crank this like a Fender tube in order to dirty things up, I'll go in another direction.

what kind of wiring is this?
my friend brought over a les paul type guitar.....he had two quot;atomic humbuckersquot; from a fender toronado (my old one), and he wanted me to install them. i couldnt find a schematic of the pups anywhere, (what colors were what) so i took the bare and the black and grounded them together, then i took the green, white and red wires and soldered them to the appropriate spot on the three way switch. he doesnt use the tone, so we didnt even use it.
so all three (green, white and red) wires from the neck pup went to the 1st spot, and all three wires from the bridge pup went to the 3rd spot on the switch. in the first position it sounds like a normal neck pup and ditto for the bridge pup/3rd switch pos. but in the 2nd spot on the switch, it sounds CRAZY, both pups are on and it is still humbucking, but it sounds hot and hollow, and single coil a little. we both liked it and left it as is. it actually sounds really, really good. those atomic humbuckers are nice pups, after all.

which pedal?
friend needs new distortion pedal for metal (think metallica/ iced earth). which is good? the amp he is using is a marshall mg250dfx 2/12 combo. he is using a gibson explorer soon to be with bill lawrences. probably in the 100-200 u.s. dollar range. thank you.

Played the Genz-Benz El Diablo 60/30 today...I'm in love
Loved it,at a low volume it was sweet and clean. Not mushy like some tube amps can be at low volumes. The drive wasn't all or nothing it responded to the attack,(almost like touch sensitvity).
The dials were cool, you could feel them knotching as you turned it so you really had a feeling of total control.

Score!(Wah Pedal)
My friend is selling me his Dunlop Original CryBaby for $20! I'm getting it this weekend. Do you think he's ripping me off? He kept on mentioning something about it being the original crybaby, and he was selling it for $30, but I talked him into bringing it down.

Durability? Ease of use? Workmanship? COmpared to a quot;standardquot; AAC wood/Aluminum rack? Alternatives?
