Durability? Ease of use? Workmanship? COmpared to a quot;standardquot; AAC wood/Aluminum rack? Alternatives?

I´m deciding between a midrange wooden rack and one of these, Because in the 8-10 HE range they´re the only ones I´m currently willing to shell the cash out for.....

What I need: 8-10 HE

Preferable specs (none essential): handles on the case (always hated that idea, handles on the covers), shockmount, wheels.

I´ve considered a rackbag, but I don´t see the sense in 1. making my rig look like luggage and 2. (more importantly) having a bag that I can sling around my shoulder filled with stuff that will easily break my back, it´s not like I´m gonna go lug a 10 HE rack on the subway

They are ok. They stack real easy, beacause of the grooves. They are no match to a wood/aluminum rack, though.

Well, it doesn´t matter anymore now, because... from : localhost/cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWN:ITamp;rd=1

Score number 2

Look out `Jonesey, I think I´m comin´after ya.... at this rate I´ll get a ´59 burst in mint condition for 200 bucks next week ... I´ll pass it on to you for say, bro price, 150k?

But thanks for your input, I just couldn´t pass up this pimp-ass rack with the plexiglass front, esp. not for less than a 4 space costs new

I had one for GK head and the thing just fell apart over time. First it startd to collapse in the middle and then the rails started coming off of the sides.

That is so much better than SKB! Congrats!

Hey Tim,

There is a quot;-quot; score for SKB, considering solid construction/workmanship. A buddy had one and it had some brewtal vibration issues because the rails started shaking and they amplified the road bumps somehow. Months later the shaking broke every soldering inside that wasn't reinforced and some fragile components. The guy glued some thick foam to inside-outside-Idontknow and the case stopped destroying gear.

SKB guitar cases seem to be rock solid, anyway. In case when you need a rack case not a guitar case, it is not a big news

Just thinking, maybe a red or blue neon tube in the case instead of a racklight, since it has a plexiglass cover...

that thing is sweet. neons are the way.

i sue a case by gator cases, which is an SKB clone (plus they are local)...mine has a retractable luggage handle amp; wheels, which is really important when carting this around- and it doesn't even have a power amp in it...just a full 6 spaces that is heavy.

I personally wouldnt go with a wood case unless I was flying regularly- or I had someone carrying it for me. Just way to heavy and bulky.

It´ll definitely get wheels, the question is just standard casters or maybe something quot;pimpedquot;, maybe with a steering wheel on top

*edit* Or to take that Idea further, add on a moped engine and drive onto stage with your rig...Rack ´n Roll, baby

I've been using SKB cases for about 10 years. My main guitar rig is housed in a 6 space model. It fell off the tailgate of a truck once, bounced twice. It scratched it up some, but everything inside was fine. I've got nothing but good things to say about them.

For the analogy of the game quot;Need for Speed: Undergroundquot; there should be a computer game quot;Need for Sound: Undergroundquot; as well, to do extended pimping on guitar rigs after defeatnig 3 opponents per gig with better tone and looks and beer intake

Well, thanks

The Superbutt guys have raided 3 places in the Netherlands last week and as a substitute I joined them. It was a brainblast, especially the 3rd show afterparty Okay, I did not bark at the moon (sometimes when the Alc-O-Holimeter hits 100% I do that then black-out, then familiar fellows know that they should call ambulance and sometimes police, soon ) but it was a great fun. The country is a nice place and them Holland guys liked what we played. I met lots of nice guys and even nicer gals ( no details ) ( okay I'll stop making tales: there was mutual interest but with a babe I had already known and all time I kept writing SMS to the girl whom I want to be the next Mrs. Miki )

I could not get used to the fact that light drugs are legal. I don't use stuff but it was strange when someone appeared openly with an amount of weed that would mean years of jail in my country...

The way there and way back was a little painful for me because I had a little accident years ago with the lower spines so sitting more than 1 hour can be painful sometimes. Apart from that, it was great. The guys of Superbutt are insane, it was a great fun at all.

This week and the next I'm doing some rest (that means I work my a$$ out in my job to reduce the ratio of getting fired ) and on 16th of June I'll go to Hamburg to joint er... I mean join Superbutt on their tour with Pro-Pain, ten shows as far as I know. Most probably, I will HAVE TO rest for a while then

I'll be ready for quot; The Raid on Tim's Beeramp;Axe Resourcesquot; on 2-3-4 or 9-10-11 of June, these week-ends are still free. That definitely will be a tour, indeed
