compared to a custom? i have one in my guitar now. Everyone talks about it in the neck and i have one in the neck but i would like to know how it sounds in the bridge and if its good for rock.

The A2Pro HB is great for rock, especially in a fat sounding Les Paul. Just listen to Slash and you're hearing what the A2Pro can do.

But compared to the Custom, the Custom is alot stronger!

More bass, wide strong mids, the treble has a little more grainy sizzle, and more output from the Custom.

The Custom rocks harder and pushes an amp harder and into overdrive more easily than the A2Pro.

The a2pro has more complex mids but less bottom end punch than the custom. The a2pro high end is a little more trebly but still smooth. When soloing on the higher notes, I find the custom to be slightly harsh, compared to other Duncans. The custom is killer for big chords though.

The Custom is brighter, high-output (very much so!) PAF, the aph-1 is more bassy, warm, round PAF tone.

I like the Custom. But there's nothing wrong with the APH-1.

Aside, the custom comes with an added benefit. You spend $10 on an A2 and A5 magnet, and you can try both the Custom Custom and the Custom 5. Something else to think on.

Thanks for your advice, guys Im using An all mahogany PRS with a tremelo type bridge. With the custom at the mo there is quite alot of grainy sizzle to the treble when you are picking but with chords it sounds great nice and chunky and great any type of rock. I think im after a smoother tone in the higher registers still with a fair amount of mids for a thick sound that still cuts through but isnt as bright(sizzly) as the custom and that will match the A2pro in the neck.
