These are locking saddles on these bridges.... I believe the strings lock in place in the bridge as well so they do not move.. The nut does not matter... It is designed to be a direct replacement trem for the American Standard trem system..... It's not like a Floyd were you have a Locking nut.... Fender American Deluxe Strats can be ordered with this Fender/Floyd bridge and Fender uses a roller nut and locking tuners on those guitars...

I have one of these trems new in a box sitting in my basement but never installed it on anything... Oneday i was going to add it to a homemade body... During a sale at a local store i grabed it for $50 Canadian......

WHOFAN

It is just like the first Floyds, no finetuners and a pain if you have locking nut
But use them with a guitar with a good nut, and you'll have nice trem.
Dunno how it sounds, those new two point Fender trems never had much of a good sound.

My Strat Plus came with that bridge, an LSR roller nut and locking tuners. My opinion is just leave the standard 2-point trem in the guitar if you are thinking about upgrading. THe locking tuners and roller nut are nice, but I don't think you gain much for the pain it is to change strings. It stays in tune nicely for regular trem work (so does an Am. Std. trem) but it goes out on EVH divebombs. So I see it as more of a burden than a benefit.

I enjoy the American Standard bridge just fine.... But i bought my Fender/Floyd bridge for cheap cheap cheap..... But the reason i have never used it as i had heard the same thing you have posted here..... They are a pain in the A$$ to set up and to re-string.... On the end of the trem arm is an allen key.... i take it that is for unlocking the strings in the bridge... How do you get the arm in there to unlock the saddles ...?

Hey thanks for all the Info guys!

I'm thinking of buying one becuase I have a Fender USA strat body sitting around that is a 2 point trem but I dont have a trem for it or neck or anything, lol.

so I'll probably get the locking trem.

Whofan, my guitar was used, so maybe my trem arm is not original (it's just a standard screw-in arm, actaully looks a lot like a floyd arm (no tip, same angles as a floyd arm). I have an allen wrench that is the correct size and keep it in the case.

wixom, You can save $55 by buying the standard on that site. If I wasn't so busy with work I'd invite you over to check out my guitar... It's not bad, I just don't see much of a benefit for it (unlike a locking nut on a Floyd)
