I just bought a complete set of Dimarzio YJMs/ HS3s to replace the SD APS-1s for noise purposes. According to Fender`s site, Yngwie wires his hot wires to his 5 way switch, but the way this strat is wired, the hots are soldered to the volume pot. Is that right? the hot leads soldered to the 5 way switch? When I had my YJM strats, I never had to look inside at the guts, so Im lost.

i just bought this used Peavey Mace 2x12 combo off my dad's old bassist...and paid 100 bucks even, and for that price....you cant beat that all tube sound...any opinions on this amp?

I'm going to be selling most of my amp collection because I don't see myself playing most of them now that I've got my Matchless SC-30: it's one of the best amp I've ever owned.

I've realized that most people discussing tone here are coming from the perspective of Lead/Solo playing (with the possible exception of the Hendrix clean rhythm/fill/lead thing) Is this true? When I think of tones I want to emulate, it always seems they are rhythm guitar tones, not lead tones. I mean across the borad too, from metal to heavy and alt rock to blues, etc. Am I the only one like this? Like when I think of Page, I think of rhythm/riff tone, not the tone on the solo to stairway.

I've read some reviews and it sounds like a fine combo. It will go on my Ibanez RG1550 (bolt-on neck, basswood body, maple fretboard/neck, Floyd Rose).

Well I have yet to get 'the book' but I figured I could start planning without it and see how it'd look from there. The project will be a neck through, 24 frets, 25.5quot; scale guitar. For the designs, I can't chose between a Mockingbird or a soloist style axe with ESP's headstock (inspired by ESP's M series and Rhoads65's Weapon of Mass Destruction). The Mockingbird would be painted naturally, the soloist all in black.
I'll be using grade B wood from luthiersupply. Has anyone got experience with it? Would grade B just not look as good as grade AA, but sound the same, or is it less resonant too?

hi guys, the title for this thread says it all. if i change string gauge on a guitar, do i need to adjust the setup at all?
