Ok so i was wondering if anyone knew anything about frank zappa's guitars? I know he had jimi hendrix`s guitar after he burned it but anyone know any thing eles about him or have any comments on his playing?

Well you hear it. I had the crazy idea of putting a ceramic magnet into a FullShred (I still plan on trying this someday) but it seems that it'd be overkill, so maybe the opposite conversion: a Distortion with hex polepieces, and maybe an Alnico 5 magnet (for the JB version). What would this do? Add some bass, give it a slightly 'fuller' sound?
Second question: what differenciates pickups? Number of coils, gauge of the wire, type of polepieces, magnets only? Does SD use a common gauge for all its pickups?

How those tube comparing ? I've read that the JJ is a el34 with more power ( headroom ) and beefier bottom end and the 6CA7 is a el34 witch tend toward a 6L6 , so they could very similar .
Somebody could tell the differences ?

This Vox 2x12 cab sounded right tonight with my band...I Love these speakers and they made the cab warmer,but it's the mids I Like and the way they not only cut but they cut right within the context of our band...They aren't broken in yet,but I Know they'll be even better once they are...I noticed some nice deep strong lows with tight,but not tight like the Neo-Dogs were even after they were broken in..Seems I made a great choice by going with another Vintage 30 setup...I was very happy and played really well tonight because the cab sounded really great...

I'm back again.. me and ArtieToo have been trying to sort this problem out, but its wretched. (well more ArtieToo lol)

I am considering upgrading the Tune-o-matic on a new Epi Explorer to one made by Tone Pros. Does Epi use the metric one or the Standard?

Well, i'm modifying my uncle's strat with a new pickguard and a humbucker in the brigde position (S-S-H) config, and also a new wiring.
