Well, i'm modifying my uncle's strat with a new pickguard and a humbucker in the brigde position (S-S-H) config, and also a new wiring.
My uncle wants a single volume control, and a three-way Les paul type switch; with the 3-way selecting these P.U combinations:
1. Neck single coil only
2. Neck and Middle single coil in Parallel
3. Brigde humbucker only.
Could this be done, considering the physics of the switch, and how?
Thanks alot,
-Erlend
I don't see any way to do it with an LP-style switch. They are just too limiting in there capabilities. You could, however, do it with an Alco-style switch, which will look almost identical up top. This is a slight mod of a drawing I did for someone else. It does what you want:The downside, of course, is that it's getting difficult to find those switches that still have the full-size handle. Mini's are no problem, but they aren't quite as nice to use. I know of several manufacturers, but no distributors . . . unless you want to buy 1000. (Maybe I should, and resell them.)
Artie
Edit: Since that drawing was made for someone else, the middle switch position is labeled quot;middlequot;. If you wire it like that, it'll actually be quot;neck and middlequot;.
Nevermind - drawing fixed.
