Subject pretty much says it all, but I'll add that I'm looking for medium-high output. I'm looking for a quot;Les Paul on steroidsquot; type of sound, but nothing like an Invader or anything like that.

Metal covers for P-90s
Hello. I just signed on to this board. So let me start with an off-beat post. For a very brief time, Gibson made P-90s with metal covers.( I believe that Neil Young's black Les Paul had such a pickup.) Even if he didn't I know that Ibanez manufactured a guitar with metal covered P-90s back around 95. The only P-90's with metal covers now are the quot;dog-earedquot; type on the Casino. I have a number of P-90 equiped guitars, and I'd love to hear whatta metal covered P-90 would sound like. Besides, they'd look cooler, especially on my Les Paul. What do you think? Would a metal cover make a tonal difference? Would anyone besides me be interested in this option?

Control scheme tricks
just wondering if any of you guys had any different techniques for using your guitar controls to get different sounds from your amp while playing live.
I tend to put my strat in position 2 with rolled off volume and neck tone (amp with more treble to compensate), then for leads i switch to neck and if i need more volume i can dime the knob.

6 or 7???
Help me out with opinions please. I'm looking at getting a guitar for playing low tuned metal stuff, Slipknot Shadows Fall etc. The ESP ltd 30th anniversary Viper has everything I want. They have a 6 and 7 string version. Same price. The only differences are; 6 string has string through body, 7 does not, 6 string has 81 / 85 EMG combo, 7 string has 81-7 / 707 combo. Please give me your opinions. I've played a 7 string a few times. I want something that will handle b and c tunings and will stay in tune! Please no other axe suggestions, don't add to my confusion.

Small Amp Clip
I just recorded my amp (Marshall JCM 800 2203) with a new Shure SM57 mic I just bought. I just did a clip to show the tone, no fancy playing here. Any comments, suggestions for better recording sound are welcome, im very new at the whole recording thing. Thanks

I need help choosing a logo again...
Well, with news that the neck and body for my latest project are being packed up to ship, it's time to start working on a logo for the headstock. This time I know what font, but not the particulars of the letters as you'll see in the image below. I've also stuck a pic that shows *somewhat* what the guitar will look like. The pictured guitar has a Floyd where mine is a hardtail, but you get the idea. The headstock of mine will match the body, so I'll be using a black logo over the streaked wood. Why don't you use your Avatar?

Deluxe Reverb
OK I have been looking at these for quite some time. The other guitar player I play with bought one of the Reissues on my recommendation. I personally feel this is one sweet little Amp. At The Long Island Guitar show I found a 1967 that was quot;priced rightquot; So I bought it. It has a 12quot; Emmenince speaker (not original). and has been recapped by the previous owner. All in All its a very clean sounding and looking Amp.
