What do you guys think is a better bang for your $$ for a set neck, 2 humbucker guitar. A pickup change would be in order, so that is not too important. Their both fat bodied, mahogany, set neck guitars, with the biggest difference being a tail piece on the Paul, and string through on the SZ. I play mostly KISS, ZZ Top, some 80's metal, Motley Crue, etc. Nothing too heavy. Which one should I get?

What are the tonal qualities of ash?

I'm currently in the middle of refinishing my Warmoth. I dyed the top a sort of blue-green burst and I'm on to the sanding sealer step. Being the idiot that I am, I managed to sand through the sanding sealer while level sanding, and I now have a band around the edge of the top that needs to be resprayed. Keeping in mind that I'm using water based dyes and nitro sanding sealer, is there a way to respray the edge without completely sanding down and starting all over again? Is there something I can mix the dye with other than water that will let me spray through the nitro sanding sealer?

Title says it all, i have a white Hotrails bridge with all the trimmings that´s been installed once. Lead is original length (with some of the black insulation missing, of course), so a sicko like me could use it in the neck if he wanted (if it was black I probably would )

Does this work in class A operation, or is this modification exclusive to class AB amps?

o.k., so i have been surfing some different sites about the guitar evh used during the dlr years. i have read alot about how the guitar was just put together and others that say it was just a stock kramer that was heavily modded.

Well my Charvel has an active midboost in it. It can add up to 6db of boost. It's a very cool device and I quite like it... The Jackson pickup it came with was very smooth, then I replaced it with a FullShred and it was just... amazing! But now I put a Miracle Man (bareknuckle) in it and I noticed a loss in harmonics (while there should be more) and a tone I wasn't expecting. Less tightness, less bass than what I hoped for. Could the active electronics be the fault? Would it definitely sound better if I wired it more simply, volume/volume/tone with all 500K pots?

I've been considering investing in one of these to put before my digital multitrack recorder to improve the sound quality a bit:

Hey guys, I stopped at the new Guitar Center today to pick up a glass slide...seeing as how the salesman said quot;I've been playing for a few months, so I know what I'm talking about,quot; a slide was all I bought from him.

The headstock broke off of my BC Rich mockingbird back in december. I've been looking for replacement necks, but the only place i know of is warmoth. Does anyone know anywhere else on the internet that sells necks?

So I’ve got a set of Fender Fat 50’s on my 50’s RI MIM Strat. They sound good, dare I say even great -- but I want some more oomph from neck and bridge. I’m serious, the Fat 50’s really do sound great, and in terms of low-mid punch, I think the neck and bridge sound as good as Strat single coils can and still be 6.3-6.4k.
