i'm looking for a drum program that you can make tool (the band) sounding drum lines. i've been trying different things but i never find anything that truly makes me happy. When i try to make something metal it always sounds like it is straight from a drum program... i know it is but i'm looking for something with a bit of a feel instead of just standard drum beats with horrid robot fills.

Bridge Pup for LP, Metal/Vintage?
Hey all...
I've been getting into a little bit more metal lately such as Opeth and some other bands with similar tones. My LP is fully stock (BB Pro's). I actually don't really mind these pickups for classic rock tones and some 80's stuff. That's why I never changed them to duncans to begin with.

recording novice needs help
hi all, several buddies and myself have been jamming some originals last few months and want to make a cd. none of us have any recording experience and want to do the project ourselves. we have space availaible but have 0 yes zero experience with recording equipment. i have been bouncing round the internet looking for info and see things such as cakewalk but still the process is a mystery to me. i dont know if we can do this on a budget but we have bout 1000 bucks. is there software or software/hardware at this price range that we can with a little work get a nice cd out of that will have 2 guitars drums and a bass...i know this question is very open ended but truely i dont even know where to begin... thanks in advance.

Wtb All Your Junk
Anybody have a junker strat neck lieing around that they'd like to get a couple bucks for? It has to be in playable condition, be usable on a Mexi strat (4post), must have all its frets . . . . and not have a bow in it that makes it overly unplayable.

Demon vs SDEco ?
Alnico5 and around 10-11 k , what is the difference in tone , EQ , ouput ?
I believe that with his double row of screws the Demon should be brighter , more precise as the SDeco would be thicker ?

Curious
Just wondering, do you have gigs? If so, where do you play mostly? Do you get paid? Do you play for free?

Middle Pick Up Recommendations
I'm going to be replacing the rails pick ups in my old korean strat. The guitar is actually routed for a H/S/H configuration, I just need to buy the pick guard to install them. I like the rails (2 hots and a cool in the middle), but I've determined that I just like true humbucker sounds the best.

Neck binding extends over nut? WTF?
Love everything about my new Carvin. But I noticed the neck binding along the edges extends all the way over the side of the nut. That's just retarded. It would be an absolute b!tch to replace the nut. I was considering putting an Earvana nut on it, which is why I noticed. What now?

anyone ever build your own rack case?
the time is coming for me to begin collecting items to build my rack, and of course i'll need a case for it all. my plan is to use a case that holds a head in the bottom (my dual rec) and has a 6 space rack above that. in the rack will be a marshall jmp-1 (1U), mesa 20/20 (1U), power conditioner (1U), and tuner (1U). the two leftover spaces will leave room for the 20/20 to breathe, and in case i want to add something later.

Question About The Pearly Gates Plus
Since it's manufactured by Fender, would the magnet have to be flipped in order for it to work with Duncan pickups? How does it compare to the original Pearly Gates?

Strat vs Tele, make your case
I really love both, but it seems like most people think the strat is more quot;versatilequot;, just has more tones in its arsenal.

So I've been a sideman for this gal (great piano player) for off-and-on gigs over the past few months, and a problem cropped up with the wah.

Reverend to quit making amps!!!
I stopped by the Reverend site today and was quite surprised to learn that they are no longer producing amps. I had a Hellhound for a while and it was a great little amp! Below is a note from Joe Naylor that I got off of the site:

Gone hunting....
i got my charvel bullseye reissue tonight and decided to do some hunting...it was dark out so i had to do some indoor target shooting instead lol.i changed the tuners to black and strung it up with heavier gauge strings and gave it a setup and it's an amazing player with the EVH duncan pickup.the gun, for the gun lovers is a Browning A Bolt 2 Medallion Edition S/S 300 winchester magnum tapped with a custom muzzle break. topped with a Leupold 3x9x40 silver gold ring edition scope. one of the MANY MANY guns in the house and one of my favorites.

power amp for stereo effects
I have a Boss GT-8 which I plan on using as my pre-amp (yes I'll even use the modelled distortions) to run to a power amp which will go to 2 Marshall MG412 slant cabs (they're cheapo 4x12 cabs).. I'm looking for a power amp with enough juice to suit fair size venues (I don't play in anything bigger than a gymnasium size room).. the problem is that I'm afraid my tone will be too lifeless if I go with say a Crate Power Block.. is getting a tube power amp a good solution or is it a waste of money... the highest I'd go in price is say $800 for a Mesa Boogie Recto 2:100 tube power amp.. any suggestions?
