anybody here have a tung oil quot;finishedquot; neck? I think I want to do this on my next project, but have hears some bad things about it, Warmoth says that 10% of tung oiled of unfinished maple necks will twist and/or warp. Has anybody here ever tried it and/or ever had a problem with it?

This is my attempt at progressive metal. I only have the first part done, and I have absolutely no idea how I'm gonna do the solo.

sorry that I don't have any images at this moment but I recently found an old fender princeton in my grandparents house. It looks almost blackface but it has large round flat white knobs. It has dual inputs, one channel, Volume (no gain controll) treble, bass, and vibrato with speed and intensity knobs. No reverb. It is powered by two 6L6 tubes and i think (but am not sure) that it has 3 pre amp tubes. when the heck is it from and about what is it worth? Thanks for the help,

I'm actually digging the stock gibson 490R and 498T pickups. I was wondering if the alnico II pro is similiar to the 490R neck.

how does kirk hammett get that violin sound out of his guitar in that little thing he does before the solo of my friend of misery on the black album? i know he must be using some kind of echo. and in the cunning stunts dvd i have i see him using a pedal for that. can anyone help me out? thanks

So I was telling my buddy about my quot;i'm so f#ckedquot; story about how I keep having guitars destroyed by UPS and FEDEX and right now I have no electric guitar and I have a jazz recital and some shows coming up. So he's like, you can borrow my Les Paul for as long as you need it. I didn't even ask. Cool eh? I'm flattered my friends trust me that much. So anyway I get to use a Gibson Les Paul Gothic for about a week and a half or so and I'll get to see if I could dig using one of these again. I had an early 90's Les Paul studio that I wasn't too impressed with last year. I'm not a big fan of the finish but beggars can't be choosers.

does xt live lack anything pod xt has, i need it for recording but as long as LIVE isnt missing anything the pod xt has ill get that 1, i think it comes with fx junkie patch which is usually $50 and it has 3 in 1 pedal which i was thinking of getting seperately and that would prob be @ 50 at least and how well are these made is extended warranty necessary

Hello all...You all know by now how much I Love my Vox Valvetronix head and the matching AD 2x12 vox cab I just got for it...The cabinet sounded great right out of the box when I plugged into it...It still sounds great also...

I have a THD 8 ohm Hot Plate I'm trying to sell. It has only been used 4 times and is in great shape. I bought it because I was told that it would help with a volume problem. I mostly play smaller venues where volume is a concern. The Hot Plate did not help my problem. It did allow more tube saturation, hence more overdrive, at lower volumes but did not acheive my volume objective.

What's the difference, and what do you guys prefer? I'm going to be buying a few 500k pots in one or the other.

Well, the family has expanded once again. Remember, I posted recently about the Parker Fly Deluxe? It's IN MY HANDS! My bro-in-law sold it to me at a ridiculous price, so I couldn't pass it up. The AIIP(n) is incredible! The Custom Custom is a bit bright, but usable. I really dig this axe.

I was looking at guitars on ebay and was wondering if anyone was bought a guitar on ebay. was it in good shape? I don't want to buy a $500 dollar guitar and then spend another $500 just to make it playable.

hey whats up this is my first post here. ok i have an ibanez rg320dxqm and i replaced the stock pickup in the bridge with an invader and its been giving me problems. i play through a crate bluevoodoo 120h with the bv 200 watt cab and its a really sharp sounding amp but with this new pickup i cant tell what notes im playing, its just unclear and really peircing, i usually drop tune to B and i cant hear the chords i play, its just like a wall of sound that causes ears to bleed ...i usually try and go for a full warm tone that still has a lot of bite, usually play downtuned heavy metal stuff ...soo basicly im just trying to figure out if maybe its my pickup or my amp, i cant seem to get the EQ right with the distortion and im quite close to chucking my guitar out the window... thanks for reading and i really would appreciate any help anyone can give me ......rock on!

I'm getting money for my birthday on April 4 and I'm planning on spending it on a new acoustic. I'm going to be strumming, fingerpicking, and playing slide on this acoustic. I do not want to spend more than $500 and would prefer to pay between 3-4 hundred. Right now i'm considering some Yamaha's, Ibanez's, Seagulls, and a Taylor Big Baby in the 3-4 hundred range. The only guitar I've seen that could be head and shoulders above the rest is the Taylor 110. Does anyone have this guitar, has anyone played it? Is it worth 100-150 more than the other brands guitars I mentioned?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and need help with wiring a strat that I'm rebuilding. I have a Twangbanger to put in the bridge position and I have a Fender 57/62 and a Duncan SSL-1, now the question. Where should I put the SSL-1 in the middle or in the neck? I'm only doing this temporarally until I get money for a reverse wound middle pup. Thanks and nice to meet you . Joe
