Anybody have experience with the quot;Torino llquot; model (looks almost exactly like a '61 Les Paul SG)?

I've played that one. They're pretty sweet guitars for the price. The stock pickups kinda sucked, But thats to be expected. And Every samick/bennet guitar I've ever played has had rough fret ends. But thats easily fixed with a little fileing. But overall they're pretty nice guitars for the price. And they come with grovers stock (who doesn't anymore though?) so thats a plus.
Try and get to a shoppe that carrys em and check em out, They're certainly worth what they cost.

Thanks Edward!
One of the local shops cerries the entire line, and I sat and played most of them one day. While none of them blew me away like say, a PRS, I did a doubletake at the price almost every time.
BTW, the ones that have Duncan Designed pickups sound really good, too.
I haven't played that particular model but I have a Greg Bennett Cobra that my son hijacked from me and it is a very well made guitar. This one has the Duncan Designed modeled after the distortion and they really sound good.
I think there are different 'models' or levels in each line so check out the specs at their site. I know the Avion (LP) line has a few different types some with Duncan Designed and some not, etc.
What happened to Brain Moore?
I took my friend out to buy his daughter a guitar for her birthday about 2 months ago and I was messing with on. I don't know but something just doesn't feel right with them, I liked the EPI SGs better that I was playing against for comparison. The sale went to an Epi LP.
I have two Samicks. Luv' em both A D-8CE Bennett Acoustic and a SAN-450 Semi-Hollow. I never played the Torino, But it looks like a solid guitar for the $$. My Cousin has a Bennett RL-3 That is SWEET !!
Try to get your hands on the Torino with the flame top. I played one a couple of months ago and it was killer in pretty much every respect. I would personally yank all the electronics, but hey, I do that to all my guitars.

Found it, in the long run, to be very difficult to play Les Paul-style guitar shapes, and I'm not so much a bolt-on / Strat-style player either. Strictly SG's my whole life. She always begs to be let back in, and alas..I relent ;-)

Gomano shame about the Brian Moore stuff, they have some very nice guitars.

The flame top model is one of the higher end beasties. Alas, I can't recall the model #, but it is out there. The only flaw I could see was some orange peel finish between the neck binding and the neck pickup. I don't think it's such a big deal, heck, I've seen Gibsons with worse finish flaws.
It was also a bit neck heavy, but then again, so are most SG's.
Oddly enough, I've always found the playability of Jay Tursers to be far superior to any Samick. The rough fret edges really turn me off (I always think quot;if they aren't getting that right, what else did they screw up?)
