Honestly, I prefer plain tops these days..either solid colors like my Standard or a plain top Classic or current R8. I really wish this thing was just a plain jane wine red classic/standard.

My Deluxe was GORGEOUS (tho at the time I was pissed cos I thot it was supposed to have a flamey top) and was my classic. Both wine red quot;plain topsquot;.. but had nice grain patterns. Very pretty.

come on Dave...post the R8..thats what I want to see!

It all comes down to priorities...maybe you'll have to sell the limba paddle.
I found this pic on the LPF some time ago. It would have to be one of the most lusty image I've ever come across.
I will NEVER SELL the Moderne...that guitar has got one of the best tones of any 2 bucker guitar I have ever picked up, period! I just have to decide on a Paul and just pull the trigger...a local dealer here that is a long time buddy of mine (I bought the Moderne from him almost 10 years ago) is getting a large number of Historics in pretty soon and he has already told me that I could come in on a Sunday (when they are closed) and go through them all until I found quot;the onequot; so Im kind of just waiting on that day...until them I am asking lots of questions...BTW, the Iced Tea plain top on the right is to die for!

I know at some point I'll regret selling it, but it's just not getting used right now. I've received about a dozen questions about it from the eBay auction, so I'm sure it will sell. I'd much rather it go to a forum bro however....

I really love my Standard. It doesn't quite have the acoustic properties of the 57', but it's the one I pick up time and time again.
