NP, I´m pretty sure on teh Preamp, and I know he used to USA Jackson J-50BC Humbuckers with the JE-1000 gain boost preamp.... I´ve heard rumors that he retrofits his ESPees with those as well, but can´t confirm that....

But anything after the preamp and I get lost

I played a basswood strat with a J50BC through a JCM800 combo with a microamp in front yesterday, and to be honest, it wasn't that far off. It lacked a bit of gain but yeah... Godly sound
