Or UN-makeover as it may be.
Anywho...My friend Tim covered his squier showmaster in cloth one day...and it looked pretty cool. stil does. I asked him to do the same thing to my strat. Didn't come out as cool...but that was about two years ago or so. kept it like that ever since...rarely played it. I keep it around cause it was the guitar that I learned on...and it's got a bit of sentimental value to me .
So, recently, I decided i wanted to see what it looked like w/o the cloth again. Break out the sissors...boom
Swapped out the bridge dimarzio with a dimebucker...still not totally decided on how I feel bout that pickup...thinking about tryin out a dimarzio virtual hot PAF. Anywho...I made it a master volume/master tone...put a series/split/out of phase switch in there for the bridge PU...and of course, the best single coil pickups in the entire f***ing world... a pair of lindy fralin blues specials.
Still got the nasty scratch on the lower corner (after that was when I learned the magic words quot;strap locksquot;). But...I'd say its a 110% improvment.
cheers .
much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much better now!!

nice git-fiddle. I love sunburst strats.
now THAT'S how a strat should look like.
Nice.
I want a cloth like that!
hmmmm looks like my strat! But mine is aged....and pertier
I actually think the 'before' look was really cool. It would look great if it was properly finished that way.
buy a new pickguard and ditch the middlepickup
better by far
