Fender Highway Strat
Hey guys... say... why are they so cheap?
It seems like they have a resonant body 'n' stuff... but shouldn't that make them more expensive?

Decent price on a maybe custom SL1? (for Jackson fans, the dream soloist!)
I've just been to a guitar shop 5 minutes away from our flat. Right there, to my joy was a 999 pounds second hand SL1 with a sustainer system. Eerie Dress Swirl. Basically, THE guitar I want for when I play better. At a great price. Despite the drool softly dribbling off my mouth, I managed to ask to try it out, along with a Laney LC15R and a Vox Bulldog pedal I wanted to try for a while. Well it was strung with .009s and as such, didn't play to its best and had a little buzz. I'm confident that with a slightly lower nut (main problem with Floyd nuts, they're usually too high ) and some .11s, it'd be a killer player! But even as so... WOW! The painted neck didn't feel sticky at all. The frets were flawless, it had a proper amount of relief. The Floyd pro was well set up. The DIMarzio pickups sounded pretty darn good and the sustainer system is cool as hell. All for 999 pounds!!!! Should I take out a student loan to grab this once in a lifetime opportunity?
Anyone aware of non CS SL1s with a stock sustainer? (it had the battery box at the back, but no Custom Shop inscription at all. I didn't memorize the serial number)

Got got a 1987 Strat off ebay.... Any thoughts Fender guys?
Hey guys,
I have been stratless for a bit now and finally went onto ebay and bought one, its a american 1987 3-tone burst with maple neck. I paid 700$ for it. If im not mistaken, 1987 was one of the first years that fender started producing stuff in the US again. Right? Anyways, im excited to get it and am wondering how it will play and sound, im sure it will be just fine, but just not quite sure what to expect because i dont think there was an american deluxe or fender custom shop in the states at the time... Can any of you Strat enthusiasts give me some info...

Well I just snagged a new bass....traded my beat to crap Ibanez BTB 500 (which I didn't really like that much anyone and it was decimated by the airline company) for a 1997 Mexican Jazz Deluxe Bass.
