Is there a way for Excel to indicate which cells are locked without having
to view the properties of each cell individually.
I added an icon to a toolbar
tools|customize|commands tab|format category
look for the quot;lock cellquot; icon. In xl2003, it looks like a padlock.
Then drag it to your favorite toolbar.
You can select a cell and look at that icon. If it's depressed, the cell is
locked.===
Another way if you're not using format|conditional formatting, you could select
the cells (all of them???) and with A1 the the activecell:
Format|conditional formatting
formula is: =cell(quot;protectquot;,a1)
Give it a nice format.

Dave,
That's exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks,
Paul
