Why can't I set each sheet tab to a different color? This feature was
available in Lotus 123 V 97. You are going BACKWARDS. If I am wrong about
this, how can it be done???Hi Max,
I use Excel 2003. When I have my spreadsheet open and all the sheet tabs
are displayed at the bottom, I choose the sheet tab I wish to change, right
click on it, and a menu pops up that offers me the option quot;Tab Colourquot;.
At first the colour just appears as an underline, but once you return it
should colour the entire tab.
I hope this helps.

I have Excel 2000 and no such option is available upon right-clicking the
sheet tab. So now what do I do? And please don't suggest buying the new
version.quot;Karenquot; wrote:

Sometimes features just aren't available with older versions. (Colored tabs
started with Office 2002.) A big example is going to be with Office 12.
It'll allow the users to create .pdf files without third-party software.
Older versions can't - and there's no way Microsoft is going to retrofit the
old versions.
I'm not going to suggest you buy a new version - I understand that sometimes
that's not an option. About the only thing I can recommend is that you try
to accept what you can do and not fuss over things you can't. (If only I'd
learn to heed my own advice.........)
