The pivot table in Excel allows you to show the grand totals for rows and
columns, but can it also display averages for rows and columns in the same
manner? If I set a months field in the column, for example, then the pivot
table will give monthly totals for revenue. Can it also display averages in
the same way?

You can change the summary function that's used in the data field, or
add another copy of the revenue field to the data area.

Right-click on a cell in the new revenue field, and choose Field Settings
From the Summarize by list, select Average
Click OK
