Describe your vibrato style!
Well... as we all know, a players vibrato is very important. But very overlooked! Personally, i've spent alot of time practicing my own vibrato, and giving it a certain style. I have two types i use; a violin vibrato which comes from alot of fretless bass playing, and a gentle quot;up-and-downquot; vibrato with varying speed.

Custom vs Custom 5
So im trying to decide between these too pickups. aparently the custom 5 has more low end then the Custom and sounds fuller (acording to the seymour duncan descriptions) but has way less midrange. Im relay looking for somthing thats balanced and full/large sounding for both rhythem and lead. Its going into a Les Paul Classic.

crunch time, which guitar/pickup?
ok i've been playing since 1993, but from '94 to '02 i had no interest and didn't really practice, just played on request, things like pretty woman
anyway i'm gonna have a job pretty quick here, and since i like explorer guitar bodies for fit and feel or anything similar, i'm either gonna put a SD set in an epi gothic explorer or get a dime-o-flame, love the look of them

New s just got here! (and other stuff)
Well the SD Jazz and SD JB that I ordered for my sister's (I gave it to her a little wihle back) Epiphone Spotlight CMT just came in today, as did the sperzel locking tuners for her strat and the two sets of graphtech string saver saddles, and the pro co rat 2 I bought her....well low and behold when I look in the box...they sent me one set of graphtech string saver saddles and a set of the more expensive graphtech saddles...NOT COMPLAINING HERE! so I put the more expensive saddles on the epiphone and put the Jazz/JB combo in there....holy crap those things SCREAM!! GREAT sounding pickups and earned every acclamation that they have ever been given...the Pro Co Rat 2 is PERFECT for my sister's style, and there are no complaints there....as soon as the SD SSL-1's I bought from four banger get here, I'm putting those in her strat in the neck and middle position to go with the cool rails she's got in the bridge and I'm putting on the string saver saddles and the locking tuners...should be GREAT. I love new stuff, even if it's not mine...but...my new bass gets here tomorrow!! Pics to follow soon!

JD amp; AlnicoII Pups: Improvement
After receiving my Jerry Donahue/AlnicoII Pro pickups (Thanks for the fast shipment Black Rose Customs), I must admit the SDs are a marked improvement over the stock Fender vintage noiseless. The Fenders were not bad, mind you, its just that the SDs had more power and sustain minus some of the extreme brightness in the stock bridge pickup.
However, upon taking the pickup cover off, I noticed that my 03 American Deluxe Tele had a factory routed neck humbucker sized hole as well as mid-position single coil hole.

Good humbucker to go in a strat
I intend to play hard rock in my new band and I will hava a hot rails instaled in the neck and a hot stack in the middle. I might go for another hot rails for the bridge but I am thinking about a good humbucker. Thinking about the distortion, JB and original parallel axis. What would be better ????

Dimarzio Air norton and air classic for strat?
So after reading HC reviews and correspondence with Dimarzio, I am thinking of loading my strat with an Air Norton bridge b/c its supposed to make a strat bridge closer to LP, and the Air Classic in the neck to match it.
