So after reading HC reviews and correspondence with Dimarzio, I am thinking of loading my strat with an Air Norton bridge b/c its supposed to make a strat bridge closer to LP, and the Air Classic in the neck to match it.
I want air buckers because of the string pull and sensitivity and b/c they tend to be quieter than nl humbuckers. Anyone ever try the Air Classic?
Thoughts?

JM, if you want the strat to sound like a lester go air zone or and virtual paf neck
feel free to ask me any other questions
Why not try the Everything Axe set? It'll give some Les Paul-ish fullness to you're strat. That's what that set is made to do.
An Air Zone / V.PAF Neck or Bridge (yes, bridge) would probably be a better solution. According to an experienced friend of mine, the Air Norton's not really a bridge pickup, although DiMarzio has always recommended me that whenever I asked something from them. According to the same guy, the Air Classic sounds dull and old in comparison with the V.PAF. I used to have an Air Zone in my guitar and it really had a nice, warm and dense, but clean sound.

I agree
the Virtual paf's are the second generation air classics
the V paf's are probably the best made and sounding dimarzio bucker to date
you could try the set, the bridge V paf is real good

With V-PAF's in a strat, would I go with 250 or 500K tone controls?
Thanks...

It depends on your tonal preferences. I prefer 500K generally because it provides a more open top-end IMO. The difference is very subtle, though.

300K or 500K will be fine
the high end of the V paf's ia warmer than a regular PAF and the lows are cleaner
