Hey
I was hours away from oredering a set of Antiquity P-90's for my Bigsby equipped Tokai Goldtop this afternoon....and then the Schaller Tune-o-matic Roller bridge I had on order arrived. I installed the roller bridge. (It is machined fromsolid brass).

The tone has improved a lot from having this bridge on it.

My Korean Tokai pickups sound like heavan now that the guitar with stay in tune... the intonation is now PERFECT!

When I play clean, through a Fender twin, or even with a bit of overdrive these pickups sound so good... I can't imagine a pickup sounding much better.

Even with these Korean made pickups the gat sounds better than my Fender Strat with Seymour duncans and Kinmans and better than my Ash Tele that has a '54 in it...

However when a bit more drive is added, the sparkle dissapears and the string to string definition gets muddy... (and I'm not talking hi-gain just a bit of mellow crunch)

I'm hoping that the Antiquitys will still sound as good as these cheapie p-90's do on cleaner settings.

I'm actually freaking that these korean cheapos might actually have some tones that the antiquities don't have... that freaks me out!

Someone please talk some sense into me...

Paspallum

An electric guitar is a complete system, from the strings, to the pups, to the cable, to the amp, to the speaker. As long as you hit that magic balance between all components, anything could sound good. Duncans just help to eliminate a variable or two.
