Hello!

I'm thinking its about time to make another purchase. I want a guitar with P90's in it. I'm looking at either a PRS McCarty Soapbar or a custom shop 1960 LP Special single cut. I'm leaning toward the LP big time. I have tried some LP Specials but it was a long time ago (they were not the custom shop version though) and I own a CE22 so I'm familiar with PRS' quality. Any opinions would be appreciated.

This will be an ongoing thread as I compare these two pickups over the course of a week or so...so I expect my first impressions to change a little as I become accustomed to these pickups and learn how to best adjust them in these guitars.

Like this one...
Mainly interested in what a fair price for one would be, and possibly details like neck profile, etc. if anyone can chime in there. Are they decent guitars?

So my Custom had this mangy 4-con wire on it that had had about a foot of shield stripped away and a wire extending the bare so it could be long enough to get to my pots.

If im going to use a pickup that is for bridge..in my neck position..will i have to turn the pickup around ? if not, what kind of a change in the sound should i expect from the pickup if i DO turn it around ? thanks in advance

The guitarist from rooster plays les pauls (on sponsership it looks like) through two vox AC30s...and man that guy has some serious tone!
